Obama and Hillary: The Dynamic Duo on Benghazi

It's mind-boggling watching this Benghazi scandal unfold before our very eyes.  Obama and Hillary, the most brilliant man and woman on the face of the planet in many people's minds, sure knew how to work against America's best interests.  It's as if they both have a deep disdain for our nation.  Oh, that's right, they do hate America -- a requirement to be a leader in the Democrat Party.

So, Hillary, what were you thinking selling missiles to al-Qaeda in the first place that you had to buy them back?  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to recognize that it's not wise to do business with the same people who killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11.

Read from Atlas Shrugs:

NEW BENGHAZI REVELATIONS: AMBASSADOR STEVENS WAS IN LIBYA TO BUY BACK MISSILES CLINTON HAD SOLD TO AL-QAEDA

More treason -- the sanction of jihadists.
More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon.
These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law.
According to the diplomats, what these whistleblowers will say will be at least as explosive as what we have already learned about the scandal, including details about what really transpired in Benghazi that are potentially devastating to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The former diplomats inform PJM the new revelations concentrate in two areas — what Ambassador Chris Stevens was actually doing in Benghazi and the pressure put on General Carter Ham, then in command of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.
Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.
Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted “to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap.”
This left Stevens in the position of having to clean up the scandalous enterprise when it became clear that the “insurgents” actually were al-Qaeda – indeed, in the view of one of the diplomats, the same group that attacked the consulate and ended up killing Stevens.
The former diplomat who spoke with PJ Media regarded the whole enterprise as totally amateurish and likened it to the Mike Nichols film Charlie Wilson’s War about a clueless congressman who supplies Stingers to the Afghan guerrillas. “It’s as if Hillary and the others just watched that movie and said ‘Hey, let’s do that!’” the diplomat said.
He added that he and his colleagues think the leaking of General David Petraeus’ affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell was timed to silence the former CIA chief on these matters.
Regarding General Ham, military contacts of the diplomats tell them that AFRICOM had Special Ops “assets in place that could have come to the aid of the Benghazi consulate immediately (not in six hours).”
Ham was told by the White House not to send the aid to the trapped men, but Ham decided to disobey and did so anyway, whereupon the White House “called his deputy and had the deputy threaten to relieve Ham of his command.”
The White House motivation in all this is as yet unclear, but it is known that Ham retired quietly in April 2013 as head of AFRICOM.
PJ Media recognizes this is largely hearsay, but the two diplomats sounded quite credible. One of them was in a position of responsibility in a dangerous area of Iraq in 2004.
We will report more as we learn it.

The IRS Scandal Is Breathing New Life into the Tea Party Movement,

Funny how that works.  The corrupt president sends his goons to punish his enemies in the Tea Party movement.  He gets caught, and the conservative group gains favor with the public.  How about that!

CNN Poll: Tea party gets boost from IRS controversy

CNN Poll: Tea party gets boost from IRS controversy

Washington (CNN) - As a major tea party group plans protests Tuesday at Internal Revenue Service offices across the country, a new national poll indicates that the IRS controversy has given the four-year-old movement a shot in the arm.
The week-and-a-half-old controversy, which involves the IRS targeting of tea party and other conservative groups which were seeking tax exempt status, has dominated headlines and put the White House on the defensive.

And according to a CNN/ORC International survey released Monday, it's also boosted the favorable rating for the tea party movement. Thirty-seven percent of people questioned said they see the tea party in a favorable light, up nine percentage points from CNN's March poll. But a plurality still view the movement unfavorably.
"Politically, the group that may have benefitted the most from last week's news is the tea party movement, which may be getting something akin to a 'sympathy vote' for being targeted by the highly unpopular IRS," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
The 37% favorable rating for tea party is just one point shy of their all-time high in CNN polling, which they reached twice in 2010, during the heyday of the movement.
But according to the new poll, 45% of the public continues to hold an unfavorable view of the tea party, with just over one in ten saying they don't have an opinion. The 45% unfavorable rating for the tea party is down five points from a CNN survey from last November.
The IRS scandal is breathing new life into the tea party movement, says Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, a grassroots organization which has been a key player in the rise of the movement.
"You've seen a lot more energy and judging from the activity on the social networks, people are pissed off about this," Kibbe recently told CNN National Political Correspondent Jim Acosta.
Niger Innis of TheTeaPart.net agrees.
"Does this pump additional fuel into our tank? Yes it does," said Innis last Thursday on Capitol Hill at a tea party news conference on the IRS controversy that drew movement leaders and activists from across the country. At the event, tea party groups shared their stories of what they described as years of harassment from the IRS over their attempts to receive tax exempt status.
Tuesday, the Tea Party Patriots, one of the movement's largest national groups, plans protests at IRS offices across the country.
The tea party, an anti-big government movement, was formed in early 2009, in opposition to both the Wall Street bailouts put in place by outgoing President George W. Bush and the federal stimulus plan being pushed by incoming President Barack Obama.
The poll was conducted by ORC International for CNN on May 17-18, with 923 adults nationwide questioned by telephone. The survey's sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points.

Rush: Working Toward Impeachment Is a Wasted Effort

Sadly, Rush Limbaugh is likely right.  The media may be having a little spat with their beloved president over spying on the AP, but that is momentary.  They will still be in his camp and protect him when it's all said and done.  Besides, to impeach a black president?  As much as we don't like it, America wouldn't do that. The blacks would riot, and it would get downright ugly.

There is one Democrat, however, who is chomping at the bit for Obama to be impeached, and that is Joe Biden who dreams of being called President Biden.

But, back to reality.  According to Rush, the best thing we could do is use these scandals to kick Democrats out of office.

Read from WND:

RUSH LIMBAUGH: 'WE CAN'T IMPEACH OBAMA'

'That is a dream that's only going to remain a dream'

Radio host Rush Limbaugh

PALM BEACH, Fla. – While a new poll says half of Americans and one-in four Democrats want Barack Obama impeached from office for a series of recent major scandals, the president’s archenemy in the media says working toward booting the commander in chief is simply a “wasted effort.”
We can’t impeach Obama, it isn’t gonna happen,” radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh said on his program Monday, “but we can impeach the Democratic Party and get it out of town by voting them out.”
The Obama administration has come under severe fire this month for its handing of the terrorist onslaught in Benghazi, Libya, the targeting of conservative and tea-party groups by the Internal Revenue Service, and the monitoring of phone records of journalists.
As far as the public is concerned, Obama’s not in trouble,” Limbaugh said. “This isn’t gonna touch Obama. Benghazi’s not gonna touch Obama. Nothing else has touched Obama. The economy hasn’t touched Obama. The debt hasn’t touched Obama. The fact that nobody can find a decent job anymore hasn’t touched Obama. The fact that militant terrorists are all over the place attacking Americans hasn’t touched Obama. Why is this?”
He continued, “In the first place, you are not going to see the media join any kind of movement to even cause Obama to be embarrassed to be in trouble.”
The host noted he was going “blue in the face” for the past five years trying to explain how Obama and his leftist colleagues can be defeated:
People have got to be told what liberalism is. If you wanna go after Obama, do it that way. Here’s who he is. He’s an unabridged radical liberal and what he believes in is exactly what’s happening here. Government getting bigger, country getting more in debt, you losing liberty, government coming after your guns. This is what Big Government does. …
For me the message is liberalism, Big Government out of control, and I’m perfectly comfortable using Obama in that. But in terms of focusing efforts to try to have Obama impeached or held personally responsible for these scandals is a bunch of wasted effort. That is a dream that’s only going to remain a dream. That just isn’t gonna happen. And, by the way, I would love to be wrong about this, and if I am wrong I’ll be the first … to tell you that I blew it. But I don’t think that’s gonna happen and I don’t think that it’s productive to go after Obama. Even if we’re able to impeach Obama, who’s gonna sit in there? Biden. Nothing’s gonna change. Government’s gonna keep getting bigger. We’ve got to get rid of Democrats!
Removing Obama isn’t gonna happen. Holding Obama accountable, making Obama pay the price for what he’s done to the country the last five years – the way to do that is to kick Democrats out of office. The way to do that is to beat Democrats in every election you can.
As WND reported, a brand-new poll reveals half of Americans want Obama impeached, including a stunning one-in-four Democrats.
“It may be early in the process for members of Congress to start planning for impeachment of Barack Obama, but the American public is building a serious appetite for it,” said Fritz Wenzel, of Wenzel Strategies, which did the telephone poll Thursday. It has a margin of error of 4.36 percent.
“Half or nearly half of those surveyed said they believed Obama should be impeached for the trifecta of scandals now consuming Washington.”

Rule One from the Obama Regime: Watch What You Say

During the Bush years, the Democrats were great advocates of free speech.  Hillary said the following:

Somehow, in the eyes of Democrats, that rule doesn't work both ways, does it, Barack?

Benghazi. The IRS targeting the Tea Party. Feds snooping on the Associated Press. These dizzying controversies around the Obama administration all carry the same lesson:
Watch what you say.
On Benghazi, set aside for a moment the dust-ups over State Department officials changing talking points, White House officials misleading the media, and congressional Republicans misrepresenting administration emails. Go back to what the administration was saying just after the deadly Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. diplomatic facility.
Many administration officials -- although they may have known better -- blamed the attack, and thus the death of four Americans, on a bad YouTube video called "The Innocence of the Muslims."
Protests outside the U.S. Embassy in Egypt did use the video as a pretext, and White House spokesman Jay Carney responded by calling the video "reprehensible and disgusting." Obama publicly attacked the filmmaker as "sort of a shadowy character who made an extremely offensive video. ..."
Later that month, federal officials arrested this "shadowy character" for probation violations related to making the video.
From the administration falsely blaming the video for Benghazi, to the White House's repeated denunciations, to the federal arrest, the message is clear: Watch what you say.
On the IRS debacle, the speech being policed isn't even offensive -- unless you find it abhorrent to criticize big government or President Obama.
The queries the IRS rained on Tea Party groups in 2010 were aimed at discerning just how political these groups were. What books will your book clubs be discussing? Tell us about your donors -- will any of them run for office?
While targeting Tea Party groups was clearly inappropriate, some of the IRS' questions were actually in keeping with federal law, which restricts 501(c)(4) groups' freedom to oppose candidates for office. This is problematic in itself because it puts the IRS in the business of telling Americans, "Watch what you say about politicians."
The IRS policing political speech is troubling for many reasons. The agency has the power to tax, and thus the power to destroy. Also, IRS employees are overwhelmingly Democrats, campaign finance data suggest. The result is powerful and sometimes partisan officials, acting on little legislative guidance to determine whether a group is "primarily engaged in promoting in some way the common good" and whether it is "participat[ing] in political campaigns on behalf of or in opposition to" any candidates.
The decision to target Tea Party groups doesn't seem to have come from Washington, but the deep distrust of these groups sure did. When critics showed up at town halls in 2009 to criticize Obamacare, the White House attacked the protesters and questioners as "manufactured" and "funded by K Street lobbyists."
Speech and debate are important. Political speech -- specifically, criticism of people in power -- is the primary reason the First Amendment exists. Does anyone think it's healthy to have the IRS interrogating grass-roots groups and warning "watch what you say about the president"?
Finally, the administration secretly tracked the phone calls of the Associated Press to root out who leaked the report of a drone strike. Then the CIA told AP to hold off on the story so that Obama could announce it first.
This has a chilling affect on journalists. But it's also the latest salvo in the Obama administration's war on whistleblowers. Liberal writer Jane Mayer wrote in 2011 that Obama has used "the Espionage Act to press criminal charges in five alleged instances of national-security leaks -- more such prosecutions than have occurred in all previous administrations combined."
More than any of its predecessors, the Obama administration tells its underlings, "Watch what you say."
All of these stories broke this month. But the Obama team has shown intolerance to dissent from the beginning. Remember during the Obamacare debate when the White House asked Americans to report any "fishy" emails about the health care bill? Linda Douglass, communications director for Obama's Office of Health Reform, said at the time her job includes collecting "disinformation" about Obamacare -- probably stuff like, if you like your health plan, you might not be able to keep it.
The three scandals of the past two weeks differ in their severity and in the White House's level of culpability. But they all have the same message: "My fellow Americans, watch what you say."

Obama Regime Went After Fast and Furious Reporter

Is there no end to what these thugs will do to protect their master?

Read from Gateway Pundit:

A Culture of Thuggery… CBS Reporter Who Reported on Fast & Furious Says Computers Were Compromized by Obama Administration

In 2011, CBS reporter Sharyl Attisson broke the story that Eric Holder knew about the gun sting long before he said he did.
This week, Sharyl Attkisson announced that her computers were compromised by the Obama administration.
The Politico reported:
Sharyl Attkisson, the Emmy-award winning CBS News investigative reporter, says that her personal and work computers have been compromised and are under investigation.
“I can confirm that an intrusion of my computers has been under some investigation on my end for some months but I’m not prepared to make an allegation against a specific entity today as I’ve been patient and methodical about this matter,” Attkisson told POLITICO on Tuesday. “I need to check with my attorney and CBS to get their recommendations on info we make public.”
In an earlier interview with WPHT Philadelphia, Attkisson said that though she did not know the full details of the intrustion, “there could be some relationship between these things and what’s happened to James [Rosen],” the Fox News reporter who became the subject of a Justice Dept. investigation after reporting on CIA intelligence about North Korea in 2009.
On Sunday, The Washington Post reported that the Justice Dept. had searched Rosen’s personal e-mails and tracked his visits to the State Dept. The court affadavit described Rosen as “at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator” of his government source, presumably because he had solicited classified information from that source — an argument that has been heavily criticized by other journalists.

MSNBC Blames George W. Bush for the IRS Scandal

Can't they ever give this poor man a break?

Read from Hot Air:

New MSNBC theory: Maybe the IRS commissioner appointed by Bush targeted tea partiers because they’re a threat to the GOP

Fun from MSNBC’s early afternoon “news” bloc of programming via Noah Rothman. The logic is ironclad and inexorable: Doug Shulman, appointed IRS commissioner by Bush in March 2008, was so fiercely loyal to his Beltway Republican masters that he decided to risk his career to kneecap conservative insurgents’ nonprofits in 2010 … even though Bush had left office more than a year before and the GOP establishment he represented was widely loathed by pretty much everyone in America. Oh, and even though (again per Rothman) Shulman himself has donated to the DNC in the past. Say it with me, guys: This. Is. A. Republican. Scandal.
In the same spirit of half-assed spitballing/“news,” how’s this for an alternate theory: Shulman tacitly approved of the tea-party targeting because he was eager to prove himself a loyal soldier to a new Democratic administration that might have been suspicious of his Bush pedigree. After hearing tea partiers impugned a thousand times by Dem officials and liberal media outlets — none more so than MSNBC — maybe he got it in his head that singling out these right-wing would-be domestic terrorists was the patriotic (and career-furthering) thing to do. Slightly more plausible, yes? As theories go, I’d say it’s 51-percent-assed. Soon we’ll get to hear Shulman’s side of it when he’s inevitably subpoenaed by Darrell Issa’s committee. And, almost as inevitably, his testimony won’t be carried live by MSNBC.
Update: How embarrassing is this? Dude:
.@ThomasARoberts you really said @msnbc Bush appointed IRS commish may have targeted tea party groups because they made GOP look bad?

Whoa whoa whoa, did @ThomasARoberts just get called out for implausible leftist spin by…@DAVIDSHUSTER?!? HA HA HA HA HA HA

.@SimonTemplarPV Yes he did. It's absurd. Frustrating to see @msnbc go from "the place for politics" to a place for utter ignorance.

Nidal Hasan Still Earning a Paycheck at Our Expense

And he will continue to do so until he is pronounced guilty.  This terrorist attack was committed over three years ago.  There is no excuse for this man not coming to trial by now.

Of course, we have Barack Hussein Obama to thank for that.  Leave it to him to look out for the interests of an Islamic terrorist while ignoring the plight of those injured while surviving their country.

The Department of Defense confirms to NBC 5 Investigates that accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan has now been paid more than $278,000 since the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting that left 13 dead 32 injured. The Army said under the Military Code of Justice, Hasan’s salary cannot be suspended unless he is proven guilty.
If Hasan had been a civilian defense department employee, NBC 5 Investigates has learned, the Army could have suspended his pay after just seven days.
Personnel rules for most civilian government workers allow for "indefinite suspensions" in cases "when the agency has reasonable cause to believe that the employee has committed a crime for which a sentence of imprisonment may be imposed."
Meanwhile, more than three years later soldiers wounded in the mass shooting are fighting to receive the same pay and medical benefits given to those wounded in combat.
Retired Army Spc. Logan Burnett, a reservist who, in 2009, was soon to be deployed to Iraq, was shot three times when a gunman opened fire inside the Army Deployment Center.
“I honestly thought I was going to die in that building,” said Burnett. “Just blood everywhere and then the thought of -- that's my blood everywhere.
Burnett nearly died. He's had more than a dozen surgeries since the shooting, and says post-traumatic stress still keeps him up at night.
Burnett is now fighting a new battle; only this one is against the U.S. Army.
The Army has not classified the wounds of the Ft. Hood victims as “combat related” and declines to label the shooting a “terrorist attack”,
The “combat related” designation is an important one, for without it Burnett and other shooting victims are not given combat-related pay, they are not eligible for Purple Heart retirement or medical benefits given to other soldiers wounded either at war or during the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon.
As a result, Burnett, his wife Torey, and the families of other Fort Hood victims miss out on thousands of dollars of potential benefits and pay every year.
To Burnett the shooting felt like combat.
“You take three rounds and lose five good friends and watch seven other people get killed in front of you. Do you have another term that we can classify that as?” asked Burnett.
The Army has categorized the shooting as a case of “workplace violence.”
“Sickens me. Absolutely sickens me. Workplace violence? I don't even know if I have the words to say,” said Burnett.
"They don't need to be treated like this. They don't need to sit and fight every day for this benefit or that,” said Torey Burnett.
As that fight continues, Burnett was stunned to see a letter detailing the more $278,000 Hasan has been paid since his arrest. NBC 5 Investigates received the letter from the Department of Defense in response to a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
"There have been times when my wife and I cannot afford groceries. We cannot afford gas in our car,” Burnett said. “Literally, times where we ate Ramen noodles for weeks on end. This [that Hasan is still earning a paycheck] makes me sick to my stomach,” said Burnett.
Burnett isn’t alone in his outrage.
We're giving the defendant in this case every benefit of the doubt. But yet we're not giving the benefits to the victims,” said Rep. Thomas Rooney (R) Florida
Rooney, a former prosecutor at Fort Hood, recently signed a bi-partisan letter urging defense secretary Chuck Hagel to "...reclassify the victims' deaths and injuries as 'combat related'..."
The letter said the current situation has "...resulted in an embarrassing lack of care and treatment for the victims and their families."
“What happened here is not a case of workplace violence. What happened here was an attack on our military by a terrorist element specifically targeting our military, which just so happened to be in the United States of America,” said Rooney.
Reports from the Federal Bureau of Investigation showed Hasan was communicating with a member of Al Qaida prior to the shooting. Additionally, the government’s National Counterterrorism Center lists the shooting at Fort Hood as a “high fatality terrorist attack.”
Rooney said he's also willing to consider whether Congress should change the rules, so the Army could suspend the pay of soldiers arrested for crimes against fellow soldiers.

George Soros Involved in IRS Scandal

I would expect nothing else.  The evil man seems to have his hand in everything dirty which takes place in this country.  But, one day his age will catch up with him, and then he will be accountable to the same God whom he denies, and it won't be a pretty sight.

Read from One News Now:

Soros' hand in the IRS scandal

New details regarding the IRS scandal that found the nation's top tax office intentionally targeting conservative groups are surfacing. Like, for example, the fact that George Soros-funded organizations sent letters encouraging the IRS to investigate conservative organizations.

According to findings reported by the Media Research Center (MRC), Soros gave $6.1 million to liberal groups who urged the Internal Revenue Service to investigate conservative non-profit organizations, including various tea party and Christian groups.
Gainor, Dan (MRC)Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture for MRC, says the scandal could be traced to a series of letters that two liberal groups -- Campaign Legal Center (CLC) and Democracy 21 -- sent to the IRS in 2010 and 2011 asking for an "investigation" of political consultant Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS.

"What they need to focus on is this timeline," Gainor suggests. "We actually carry the timeline here, and the timeline is when these lefty operations sent their letters to the IRS and what the IRS did soon after."

Pro Publica, The Huffington Post and Mother Jones were just a few of the accomplices that helped instigate IRS investigations. Bit as of 2010, Pro Publica received a two-year contribution of $125,000 each year from George Soros' Open Society Foundations.

"It is a who's who of far-left organizations," the MRC spokesman offers. "Remember -- this is George Soros, who has given $8.5 billion to charity. Of that ... that we could track, $550 million has gone to liberal operations here in the United States."

Applications of nine organizations applying for tax-exempt status that had yet to be approved were sent to Pro Publica. Unapproved applications are not supposed to be made public.

John Kerry Poses with the Father of a Terrorist

Isn't that cozy?  The U.S. secretary of state gets his mug shot with the father of one of the terrorists who was on board the Mavi Marmara.  His son was killed by the IDF as they fought to defend themselves against Islamic thugs.

Any decent U.S. official wouldn't be caught dead near such an individual.  But, this is John Kerry who we are talking about, and being that he represents the anti-American and anti-Israel Barack Obama, it all makes sense to the detriment of the United States.

US Secretary of State John FN Kerry posed for a photo opportunity with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Ahmet Dogan, the father of one of the Mavi Marmara - IHH terrorists
Last week, TheBlaze reported that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan invited the father of one of the radical Islamist activists killed on the 2010 Gaza flotilla to join the official entourage on his visit to the U.S. last week. And while sources familiar with lat week’s visit told TheBlaze that the father did not enter the White House or meet President Obama to deliver a personal letter about his son, according to the Turkish foreign minister’s Twitter account Secretary of State John Kerry did meet with the father and even posed for a photo with him.
The Turkish news site Hurriyet Daily News reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet DavutoÄŸlu arranged the breakfast meeting Friday where he, the father (Ahmet DoÄŸan) and Kerry were present. DoÄŸan reportedly updated Kerry on the “pending trial of Israeli soldiers involved in the” flotilla incident.
According to Davutoglu, Kerry promised to give the letter to Obama.

Who says that the Obama administration isn't accommodating to terrorists?

More Benghazi Whistleblowers to Testify

Barack Obama is more than likely relieved by the attention which is being paid to the devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.  That leaves limited time to dwell on his scandals, and though they are many, it is about to get a whole lot worse as more whistleblowers will take the stage.  Let's hope they wait until Oklahoma is not dominating the news so much so they can get the full attention they deserve.

So sorry, Barry, but the truth may just find you out.

Breaking: New Crop of Benghazi Whistle-Blowers Will Testify on Obama’s Missiles to Al-Qaeda Program

In January Senator Rand Paul accused the Obama Administration of a cover-up for running guns to terrorist groups in Libya and the region.
Via Hannity:

Hillary Clinton admitted in testimony that terrorists used weapons from Libya in the attack gas plant attack in Algeria.
Now, more Benghazi whistle-blowers are reportedly ready to testify on Obama’s missiles to Al-Qaeda program.
PJ Media reported:
Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.
Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA.Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.
In April Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren told Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday that the US armed Libyan rebels with missiles that showed up in Israel’s backyard.
