Is There Support for Funding Egypt?

Obama keeps throwing our hard-earned dollars to the Egyptian Arab Spring. What do average Americans have to say about this wasteful foreign aid?

"See Sunday’s post about the Muslim Brotherhood claiming the U.S. has to send aid or the Camp David Accords could be in jeopardy.


(Poll Position) — 'Most Americans believe the U.S. should reduce or eliminate its more than $1 billion a year in financial aid to Egypt.

In our national scientific telephone poll, we put this question to Americans: “Do you believe that the U.S. should maintain, reduce, or halt providing Egypt with more than $1 billion a year in U.S. financial aid?”

In response, 14% said maintain the aid the $1 billion+ a year in aid, 44% said reduce the aid, and 33% said halt the aid altogether.

Along partisan lines, independents (43%) and Republicans (40%) most favored ending U.S. aid to Egypt.

Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,232 registered voters nationwide was conducted Feb. 6, 2012 and has a margin of error of ±3%. Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.'"


Perhaps, American objection to funding Egypt has something to do with the intense persecution Christians are facing from the Muslims in Egypt.

Nearly 100 terrorized Copts sought refuge inside the church, while Muslim rioters were pelting the church with stones in an effort to break into the church, assault the Copts and torch the building. A home of a Copt living near the church and the home of the church's porter were torched, as well as three cars.'"
