Home Depot Goes Politically Correct

Take a stand for traditional godly values by boycotting Home Depot. Hit 'em where it hurts. Take your business to Lowes.

Home Depot displays deaf ear
Charlie Butts

"The American Family Association's boycott of The Home Depot continues after corporate executives heard from those opposed to the company's strong support of the homosexual agenda.

It was a unique opportunity for the Mississippi-based pro-family group to deliver its message regarding The Home Depot's 'corporate endorsement' of the homosexual agenda. AFA executive vice president Buddy Smith traveled to Atlanta to attend the annual shareholders meeting, where he addressed Home Depot chairman Frank Blake and other company executives for a three-minute period (listen to Smith's entire presentation here).

Accompanying Smith was Randy Sharp, AFA's director of special projects. He summarizes what took place.

"We presented to the shareholders and to the chairman and the board of directors over 470,000 signature petitions asking them to remain neutral in the culture war, specifically when it addresses gay marriage and homosexual activist groups," Sharp tells OneNewsNow.

The reception was cool, adds the AFA spokesman. Blake thanked AFA for the petitions but again, as in the past, reiterated the company's support for 'diversity,' which includes same-gender 'marriage.'

Sharp adds: 'We're disappointed that The Home Depot continues to close the door and not listen to the millions of customers who are offended that they are engaging in the culture war and taking a position in favor of gay marriage.'

As a result, the American Family Association plans to continue its boycott and encourage others to sign the pledge to not do business with The Home Depot until the company agrees to be neutral on social issues.

According to the boycott website, the nationwide home improvement retailer sponsors and participates in numerous 'gay pride' events, parades, and festivals across the U.S. where small children are exposed to 'open displays of homosexual activism.' The boycott was launched in July 2010."

Never shop at those homosexual promoters and supporters!

it's obvious that either the CEO or somebody in management is a homosexual or leftwing ideologue and using their position to push an agenda, because I don't think many homosexuals even do their own home improvements, unless Home Depot is shifting their marketing to interior decorating alone.

Could it be that Arthur Blank is homosexual or leftwing ideologue? For somebody to enlist and encourage children to attend homosexual parades and activities is lunacy to anybody with any business sense.

Lowes is the best for prices and fast check-out as well, so why would anybody shop at Home Depot?

Hating a person because their personal preferences differ from yours is pretty ignorant. Just because your life experiences have led to the conclusions you've drawn doesn't mean that they're necessarily correct, or even the only ones out there. The same applies to the weight you put on the significance of human sexuality, as throughout history (and in many other countries today) it's not that big of a deal. In its simplest form, the body is merely a vessel for the mind, and has little impact or control over your mental processes and preferences. The beauty of life is your ability to explore your freedom, and do what makes you happy- Rules set down by anyone other than nature can't truly be definitive, for no one truly has perfect knowledge, and the Bible as a sole source of information doesn't cut it- and if nature intended homosexuality to be wrong, explain this http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/04/magazine/04animals-t.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 For the record, I'm not gay, and would never want to be. I just try to keep an open mind and understand that my views of the world are entirely my perception of the reality I exist in, and it's unfair of me to discriminate based upon opinion. Back to the main point- I've always liked Home Depot, as their selection and organization fits my needs better. So you're boycotting a business because they support free choice, and refuse to single out a population for a purpose that's entirely religious? Good for them, that's what this country was founded for.

Note to the blog author: Not approving this comment for others to judge for themselves will completely reinforce my position, and may make you a communist.
