Muslim Brotherhood Not a Threat Says Obama--UPDATED

So, the Muslim Brotherhood is not a threat, eh, Mr. President. Wake up and smell the roses. You're either clueless or you yourself are a threat to our country.

How's that "hope and change" working for you people who fell hook-line-and-sinker for the smooth-tongued Barack Obama?

We are reliving the late 1970s. Only this time there is no Ronald Reagan sitting in the wings ready to pick up the pieces.

For the first time ever, a US Administration supports granting Islamic extremists a government role.

Barack Obama told Bill O’Reilly that he’s not concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. After all, Obama says only certain strains of the Muslim Brotherhood are against the US.

'Any sudden toppling of the Mubarak regime could create major headaches for the United States, particularly if the void permits a group like the radical Muslim Brotherhood, which is negotiating with the current government about leadership changes, to emerge victorious.

Obama suggested he’s less concerned about that.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is one faction in Egypt. They don’t have majority support in Egypt, but they are well organized and there are strains of their ideology that are against the U.S., there’s no doubt about it,” Obama said. “But here’s the thing that we have to understand, there are a whole bunch of secular folks in Egypt, there are a whole bunch of educators and civil society in Egypt that wants to come to the fore as well. So it’s important for us not to say that our own only two options are either the Muslim Brotherhood or a suppressed people.”

To avoid such scenarios, Obama said that the U.S. must make sure “that we get all the groups together in Egypt for an orderly transition and the one that is a meaningful transition.'


Obama said this after a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood told the Egyptian Army this week to prepare for war with Israel.

By the way… According to a recent PEW poll 59% of Egyptian Muslims agree with the fundamentalists over the modernizers.
This doesn’t seem to bother the Obama Administration."

(Business Insider)- 'Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the key leaders of Egypt’s protest movement, has brought his country’s peace treaty with Israel into doubt in an interview with Der Spiegel.

SPIEGEL: Are you now saying that a government that included participation by the Muslim Brotherhood would continue on with Mubarak’s policies toward Israel?

ElBaradei: No. Something the Israelis also need to grasp is that it’s impossible to make peace with a single man. At the moment, they have a peace treaty with Mubarak, but not one with the Egyptian people. The Israelis should understand that it is in their long-term interest to have a democratic Egypt as a neighbor, and that it is prudent to acknowledge the legitimate interests of the Palestinians and to grant them their own state.


What ElBaradei is saying isn’t exactly surprising. He’s suggesting a more democratic government in Egypt would reflect Egyptian opinion and public sentiment, which is that Israel should do more to remove itself from Palestine and allow it to become an independent state.'
