We already know, Diogenes, Arizona has refused organ transplants for Medicaid patients. It is truly a shame for those who are suffering, but it sounds like a budget issue. Like many other states, Arizona is broke. I wonder if it has anything to do with illegal aliens overwhelming the state. Ya think?
However, sneaking in the death panels after railing about being accused of having them in the first place is truly disturbing. Sure, this is about money, too. In an Obama nation, the elderly will be thrown under the bus while we, the taxpayer, are expected to foot the bill for abortions for the poor and healthcare for illegal aliens. It's the dishonesty coming from the Obama regime that has everyone upset, not to mention our concern for our elderly loved ones.
Read from Joshua Pundit:
Once Again..Sarah Palin Was Right About The Death Panels

"As I mentioned before, Sarah Palin was exactly right when she mentioned that ObamaCare featured rationing and Death Panels..and now me have it confirmed by no less a source than Pravda-on-the-Hudson.
Originally, the language on the so-called 'end of life planning'- AKA death panels- was removed before ObamaCare was shoved through, although the provision for those Independent Medical Advisory Boards was left in, which amounted to the same thing.
However, President Obama sneaked the language back in under the guise of regulation, so MediCare is now going to pay doctors who advise patients on options for end-of-life care, which includes directives to forgo what's termed 'aggressive life-sustaining treatment.'
The decision was made back in November, after the midterms and goes into effect January 1st....and we're now hearing for the first time during the Christmas holidays news doldrum, when people are distracted and their attention is elsewhere.
To paraphrase lunatic and ex-congressman Alan Grayson, Obama and the Democrats just want you to die quickly. And there's no clearer indication of that than Obama's choice to head Medicare and Medicaid, Dr. Donald M. Berwick...a radical proponent of rationing care who Obama shoved through as a recess appointment.
This approach to health care is strikingly similar to the Nazi's policy of rationing care and weeding out what they termed 'unnütze Esser', useless mouths.
Expect Obama to sneak more 'regulation'in on this and other matters that bypasses Congress. Which is exactly why the entire Obama agenda has to be repudiated and defeated."
Of course, the Obama regime comes out with its typical response to any controversy: Blame it on Bush.
From Gateway Pundit:
Disgusting. White House Says Bush Supported Death Panels Too — NOT True (Video)
"This past weekend it was reported that Democrats inserted death panel language back into their unpopular health care bill. Democrats defended this move once they were caught by insisting that Bush supported death panels, too.
The Hill reported:
'The Obama administration is trying to quiet talk about so-called “death panels” after The New York Times reported Sunday that a new Medicare regulation includes incentives for end-of-life-care planning…
However, an administration spokesman said the regulation, which is less specific than the reform law’s draft language, is actually a continuation of a policy enacted under former President George W. Bush.
“The only thing new here is a regulation allowing the discussions … to happen in the context of the new annual wellness visit created by [healthcare reform],” Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin told The Wall Street Journal.
In 2003, Medicare added a consultation visit for seniors new to the program, according to the Journal. Another 2008 law, enacted under Bush, said the visit can include “end-of-life” planning discussions.'
Not true.
Republican analyst Matt Schlapp corrected this latest lie by the Obama Administration.
Bush vetoed the end of life provision that went into law in 2008.
RedState has more.
'What The Hill’s Jason Millman forgot to mention in his article was that President Bush VETOED the 2008 bill and the Democrats, along with some “good-willed” Republicans OVERRODE Bush’s veto forcing him to sign the legislation into law. The bill dealt with doctors’ reimbursements and more, but the Democrats slipped in the end-of-life planning by opening up the Social Security Act, which I have stated many times is dangerous, because once changed, it is difficult to amend again and allows for tinkering with the Medicare fee schedule and covered services definitions and requirements.'
The fact that the Obama Administration claimed that the Bush Administration supported the end of life provision is a complete lie.
And, they know it.
More… Critics charge Democrats with dirty tricks to keep death panels alive."

Good grief, what hysteria over nothing!
It's not "death panels" or anything remotely resembling death panels. And it never was.
All the regs provide is that a doctor can get Medicare reimbursement if patients request info on living wills, medical directives, and the like. Anyone who HASN'T thought about those issues, in this day and age, is courting trouble. And, since it's not "medical care of an illness or injury", it wouldn't usually be compensable under Medicare rules. These regs just get the doctor paid for this service.
Now, MoreLies, you may want to prolong your miserable life, regardless of the costs and regardless of the limitations, and that's OK. You are free, and you still will be free, to pursue tha option if you wish.
But some people don't want to prolong their life if it means being in a persistent vegetative state on life-support equipment forever. And that's their right, too.
All these regs do is give people information so that they can make an INFORMED choice for themselves. And, if you don't want that kind of info, you don't have to get it at all. You're free to tell the doctor "No, thanks, I don't need or want to hear about that stuff."
This is NOT about a bunch of doctors sitting around, deciding who lives and who dies. And it's not even a bunch of doctors deciding what sort of medical options should be given to patients, which could, arguably, be seen by some as a "death panel".
All this does is give people information to make their own informed choice. So what the hell is your problem with that? I thought you and your fellow Religious Rightwingnuts were all in favor of individual freedom.
NOT making a decision on these issues is actually making a decision... and it may not be the decision you want. It's not an issue you can avoid by ignoring it.
DIO is misinformed AGAIN imagine that..........
The doctor gets paid MORE if the patient goes through counseling AND THE GOVT MAKES THE PAMPHLET THAT THEY ARE TO BE GUIDED BY. THUSLY THE GOVT IS THE ONE MAKING THE DECISION. IF YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU THAT YOU NEED TO DO THIS WON'T MOST PEOPLE DO IT BECAUSE OF THE DRS AUTHORITY AND OPINION? What a dangerous and reckless way to treat anyone.
DIO, wake up and smell the death panels, because that is what they are. There is a reason OBAMA wants the seniors out of the way, THEY DO NOT LIKE WHAT HE HAS DONE TO OUR COUNTRY AND DO NOT VOTE FOR THE PROGRESSIVE CANCER THAT YOU ARE HELPING WITH.
By the way this information was on FOX NEWS, so I'm sure you had no idea because you are so misinformed because you do not watch FN.
LMAO Damn, you rightwingnuts are dense!
Let's think about this, shall we, JustaDimwitLoser? If a doctor performs a service, he gets paid for it. So if you have an office visit, the doctor gets paid. And if the doctor talks to you about details concerning living wills, durable medical powers of attorney, medical directives, etc., he (now) gets paid extra for that. And if you turn down the consultation, he doesn't get paid.
So yes, he gets paid "more" if you take the consultation. What's so sinister about that? The doctor does more work, he gets paid more.
There's no "pamphlet" that decides anything for anybody. There MAY be a pamphlet that explains the options to patients... but neither the pamphlet or the government that prints the pamphlet is making any decisions for anybody.
The doctor should NEVER say "you should do this" or "you should do that". He's there to provide information to his patients, and he doesn't get paid any more or less depending on what they decide to do, IF they decide to do anything.
When I was a lawyer, this was something our office offered when people would come in to make a will. We didn't tell them they had to, but we told them why they MIGHT want to, and we laid out all the various options available to them. It was totally THEIR choice whether or not to pursue drafting one of those documents. My office got paid hundreds of dollars for drafting these documents (one of the reasons I quit being a lawyer, as a matter of fact) when in reality I always thought that it would be better for a medical professional to consult with patients, since the medical pros understand the realities of life-support options, etc., better than lawyers.
You ARE right on one count though, JustaDimwitLoser: this isn't something that anybody should have to decide when they're "under the gun". This is something that SHOULD be done when everybody's relaxed and not feeling pressure in any way. Unfortunately, most people don't think about it until they're being admitted to a hospital, and that's sad.
But hey, if you're bent on making this into some sort of grand conspiracy for Obama to take over the world, who the hell am I to clue you in on the fact that you're delusional?
And you didn't have to advise us that you saw this on Faux Noise, JustaDimwitLoser.... we could have guessed that.
By the way, MoreLies, I should have called yo on this earlier, but I didn't:
You're COMPLETELY fabricating nonsensical "death panels" and you wrote: "how else are they going to get costs down? It's time to encourage grandma to not prolong her life. Instead, she can just suck it up and die early. The party of compassion strikes again."
An d yet that is EXACTLY what is happening in Arizona RIGHT NOW. No ifs, ands, or buts about it: Jan Brewer and the Republican legislature are sentencing people to die, because Medicaid can't afford to pay for medically necessary transplants. It's happening NOW, and you glibly brush it off, saying oh well, they have budget problems.
That's EXACTLY what you claim the feds are TRYING to do, and you scream about it! But when the rightwingnuts actually DO IT, you shrug your shoulders and move on?
What a filthy piece of hypocritical garbage you are.
If the feds would stop illegal immigration at the southern boarder, maybe Arizona could afford the extra treatments.
Entitlements are overrun with illegals and the feds don't care, republican or democrat.
Seniors will begin to be denied life-extending treatment under the demoscums new plan.
Hell, donald berwick said it's not whether we will ration care, but whether we'll do it with our eyes open.
I'll bet the he and the scumbag dems who wrote and voted for this shit will extend their own lives as far as possible, no matter the cost.
The haves and the have nots at its finest.
Seek treatment, JustaDumbass. Make it a New Years resolution. For your own well-being.
And protect our boarders, by all means.
diohomoass seems pretty old. We can only hope they deny his sorry ass treatment soon. One less stupid liberal to deal with.
Yippeeeee!!!
That'll be the only way you'll shut me up, redneck.
There are lots more ways if i could only find your chickenshit ass.
::swoon::
I just LOVE it when you talk all butch, JustaDumbass! You are SOOOOOOOO manly!!
Well, you all got your way... again. The provision's been pulled. So now, when people need to get information from their doctor about these issues, they'll have to pay for it themselves, since Medicare can't pay for it.
That makes no sense. But, hey, it's a "win" for rightwingnuts.
And you're not!! Jealous?
Looks that way to me.
Try pulling your head out of your ass... it might improve your vision.
Just a thought....
Hey, I finally found out what those waivers were that you were belly-aching about.
They're one-year waivers to allow large companies to continue providing so-called "mini-med" policies to part-timers. They can be renewed one time, but there won't be any more granted after the entire healthcare requirements kick in in a couple of years.
