Enough Already!

Our nation is broke, and Americans are fed up with the wasteful spending. The recent election was a judgment partly on the Obama presidency and its deficit spending. Does this man not get it? Stop the excessive spending. How many elections will it take for him to wake up?

Read about all the extravagance planned for Obama's trip to Asia, via Joshua Pundit. Is all this necessary with our economy in freefall? Is this not the same man who blasts CEOs for their lavish lifestyles? And what about the carbon footprint for this trip? Man, oh man.

Obama Takes A Roadtrip To India - At A Cost Of Over $2 Billion

"Want fresh proof that President Barack Hussein Obama didn't get the message from the election on Tuesday?

The president is fleeing DC and getting out of a dodge with a four-day road trip to India.

He's taking along the majority of the White House staff, his personal Lincoln Continental Presidential limousine along with 40 other vehicles, two jets, armed with advanced communication and security systems, his personal Marine 1 helicopter, and a fleet of 34 US warships, including an aircraft carrier.

Then there's the special bomb-proof surface tunnel that is going to be installed by US Army engineers on the approach to Mani Bhavan, the Gandhi museum that the president's going to visit soon after he comes to Mumbai on Saturday.

The president and his entourage have booked a total of 800 rooms in Mumbai at the five -star luxury Taj Hotel and at the slightly less upscale Hyatt, where the 'help' will stay when they're not on duty. A similar amount of space has been booked at the equally opulent Maurya Hotel in New Delhi.

Cost to the American taxpayer? Around $2 billion when you include the cost of deploying the warships and the massive 500-man security detail.

$2 billion dollars for yet another vacation , while our country struggles with debt.

We no longer have a president, but a clueless, uncaring Bourbon king...Louis XIV redux."

It's hardly a vacation, but you'd have to know something about international diplomacy to grasp that simple fact. Are you that clueless as to the importance of India on the world chessboard?

Yet another rightwingnut blogger throwing bullshit into the wind and hoping something sticks.

"A recent article in the foreign press supposedly quoting an anonymous foreign official claimed that the president's trip to Asia would end up costing American taxpayers $200 million per day and that 34 navy warships were being used for the trip -- certainly an astounding figure, were it true. Buts it's not even close to true. This hasn't stopped some political opponents of the president, including some elected officials, from trafficking in this claim.

So let us be unequivocal: the numbers reported have no basis in reality. Due to security concerns, we can't get into details associated with security procedures and costs, but it's safe to say these numbers are wildly inflated and President Obama's costs are in line with the costs of protecting previous Presidents.

For the record, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell was also asked about the claim that the President will be accompanied by 34 warships on the trip, and gave an appropriate response:

"We obviously have some support role for presidential travel. We don't speak to that in detail for security reasons. But I will take the liberty this time of dismissing as absolutely absurd this notion that somehow we were deploying 10 percent of the Navy -- some 34 ships and an aircraft carrier -- in support of the president's trip to Asia. That's just comical. Nothing close to that is being done."

Just another instance of the righteingnut blogosphere jumpingon unverified gossip and blowing it sooooooo far our of proportion. Congratulations again, MoreLies! I'm sure you'll claim that it hasn't been "proven" wrong yet, so it's appropriate for you to publish it. Or, maybe, if you're having one of your extremely infrequent pangs of conscience, you'll just take it all down from your miserable little blog and pretend it never existed. But why don't you EVER leave something up, with a nice big mea culpa attached to it, apologizing for taking a cheap shot with a damn lie?

Some people just can't handle defeat. Since they're obviously in the minority in this country, it's telling that they don't go where they are wanted. They do enjoy spreading their hate.

The Left thought when BO got elected that it meant they would never suffer another defeat. I tried to explain to one that politics is cyclical, and that BO's election didn't mean "The Rethugs going the way of the Whigs," as he liked to say, but I could not get through.

Maybe now he's realizing how a two-party system works.

Then you're smart enough to know that this moment for Republicans may be fleeting, too.

And there still is a distinct possibility that the Republican Party may go the way of thw Whigs, if the Teabaggers have their way.

I'm waiting to hear all those Republicans who got elected on a platform of "Repeal Obamacare" trying to explain to maniacal Teabaggers in 2012 why Obamacare hasn't been repealed!

When are you going to admit this was a lie, MoreLies?
