The Left just does not get it when they try to comprehend why Christians support Israel. Just recently, I had a discussion about this topic with my liberal father who opposed the war in Iraq. He is convinced that Bush would have gone to war against Saddam Hussein, even if there had been no 9/11 and no threat of WMD. He seems to think that, as a Christian, Bush was attempting to take land occupied by Arabs to hand it over to Israel, so as to move Israel's borders eastward toward the Euphrates River as they were in Biblical times.
That makes no sense because Bush cheered Israel on when Gaza was given to the Palestians in 2005. It was Bush and Condi Rice who pressured Israel at the Annapolis Conference in 2007. I explained this to my dad and shared that I was angry at Bush for pressuring Israel to give up her God-given land. Bush cannot be guilty of both taking land for Israel and taking land from Israel.
If that theory by my dad doesn't make you shake your head, then perhaps, the latest theory from Diogenes will do so. He suggests that Christians are eager for a war in the Middle East with hopes that war would hasten the Rapture. That's absolute lunacy. Any true Bible-believing Christian knows that he cannot manipulate God. Our God is going to do what He wants to do, when He wants to do it. I don't want war in the Middle East. In fact, I pray daily for the peace of Jerusalem.
Diogenes also quotes some left-wing Bible professor who makes excuses for homosexuality. The Bible says to beware of false teachers. Diogenes is attracted to them like a magnet.
The Left's hatred of America, Israel, and the God of the Bible drives them to irrational statements. Christians support Israel and the Jewish people because the Bible tells us we should do so. We owe a great debt to the Jewish people. Through them, we received our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the disciples, the apostle Paul, and the Word of God.
Unlike those on the Left, we honor what is said in the Bible and do not attempt to twist God's words. When He said that He will bless those who bless Israel and the Jewish people, He was not kidding around.
Would someone please point this out to our Israel-hating president who is bringing judment upon our nation for his harsh treatment of Israel? Obama had released his firm grip on the Jewish nation prior to the election so as not to inflame Jewish Americans, and I expected him to come with a vengeance after the election, but I didn't expect it until early 2011. I was wrong; it's happening right now, and America will pay dearly for electing such an enemy of Israel.
Mark my words, hard times are ahead. But those who trust in Jesus as their Savior need not fear for themselves because God ALWAYS takes care of His children. We are the apple of His eye.

While I guess it's possible, that somewhere in one of your rants about what you consider the perversion of homosexuality, I mentioned this professor, but I don't remember it. But it's a good way to divert attention away from your own heresy, right, MoreLies? The rightwingnut version of "Look! Shiny object!" only in this case it's "Look! Liberal homosexual lover!" I didn't recognize the Siker piece on homosexuality that you linked to for a very good reason: I never cited the Siker piece because I never saw it. But when I tracked your link back to your prior rant about "God's foreign policy" I realized that Siker is one of the guys who wrote about the evils of you Christian Zionists.
And, when you couldn't discredit Siker on substance, you tried the always-popular rightwingnut "defense"... launching into character assassination. Focus on the messenger instead of the message.
Siker, by the way, isn't just "some left-wing Bible professor" as you labelled him, MoreLies. He's an ordained Presbyterian minister (which hardly makes him left-wing) who, apparently, is a professor of New Testament and chairman of the Department of Theological Studies at Loyola Marymount, a Jesuit university. But I guess you know your Bible more than some overeducated nerd like Siker! That's why you had to yell "HOMO" as a defense!
If you Googled "Christian Zionism" you'd know that SIker is far from being the only guy to talk about that topic. The heresy of Christian Zionism has been studied and discussed in theological circles for decades.
