"Arrogant As Ever"

Liberalism = arrogance.

Have you ever met a bleeding-heart liberal who does not display at least a touch of arrogance, looking down on us traditional conservatives like we are dirty, ignorant lowlifes who need them to think for us because we are too stupid to do so ourselves? Diogenes uses this approach on a daily basis.

Hey, I've been in both camps. I was taught by my elitist mother to look down on those from states such as Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. She may have to re-think that one because Bill Clinton is from Arkansas. Even my mom recognizes that Obama is a major loser as president and is now speaking of the greatness of Slick Willie. Hey, I'll take these Southern conservatives over her progressive New Englanders any day.

Read from the American Thinker:

Elitists of the Left Still Arrogant, Ignorant, and in Need of Watching
By Harold Witkov
[...]

"How do elitists of the Left view themselves after being shellacked in the past election? Unfortunately, much as they did before the election. In three words: arrogant as ever.

Perhaps a more interesting question than 'How do the elitists of the Left view themselves?' is 'How do they view the Tea Party?' As we all know, they have been happy to paint Tea Partiers as a bunch of racists and crazies. That, in my opinion, is not their core belief, but rather their carefully laid out propaganda campaign for their base.

So how do they actually see Tea Partiers? To be sure, they see them as President Obama sees them (or anyone else who dares stand in the way of his agenda). They are 'enemies.' But the word enemy does not tell the entire story.

Back on Sunday, March 21 of this year, I came up with my best analysis of how the elitists of the Left view the Tea Party. It happened while I was watching an escorted Nancy Pelosi on TV climb the steps of the Capitol building before a retreating crowd of scattering Tea Party faithful. Ms. Pelosi, who knew she had the votes needed to pass ObamaCare, was clasping her oversized gavel and looking very ominous.

To me, it was not Nancy Pelosi walking up the stairs with gavel in hand, but a five-foot Samson in drag brandishing his infamous jawbone of an ass, ready and hopeful for the opportunity to crush Philistine skulls. It was on that day and at that moment that I grasped how Nancy Pelosi and the elitists of the Left viewed Tea Partiers. It hurts me to say this, but to them, we are just a mob of troublesome, unenlightened philistines.

I am not referring to Philistines of the distant past, the longtime rivals of the Chosen People, but to modern-day philistines (with a small p). It is my steadfast belief that Nancy Pelosi and her elitist friends on the Left view the Tea Party faithful as crude, unrefined, boorish, and uncultured oafs.

If they were not posing such a threat to the future of our country, we might find it humorous that these naïve elitists arrogantly believe that America should be remade as they see fit. We might find it funny that most of them are too clueless to see that the overwhelming majority of Americans stand firmly against them. If they were not so dangerous to the American dream, we might find it amusing that they view mainstream America with condescending disdain and Tea Partiers, in particular, as philistines.

Unfortunately, as things stand, we can hardly afford to be amused. We know that men are fallible and tyranny is always just around the corner. Our Founding Fathers made sure to pen a Constitution that intended power for the American people -- certainly not for a future lot of self-ordained political priests and priestesses of the Left.

So let President Obama whine that the midterm elections were lost because '[w]e were so busy and focused on getting a bunch of stuff done that we stopped paying attention to the fact that leadership isn't just legislation.' Let Nancy Pelosi announce, 'We didn't lose the election because of me.' Let Harry Reid believe he has yet another mandate from Nevadans for six more years of the same.

Let them all think of the Tea Partiers as just a bunch of troublesome and unsophisticated philistines. Let them remain arrogant and ignorant while we the people work to take back our nation one political contest at a time. But let's not fool ourselves.

Back in high school, I used to get together with some friends and play poker for nickels, dimes, and quarters. One fellow in particular had a tendency of going shy (borrowing from the betting pot) during the course of a playing hand. Mysteriously, his shy stack of change would sometimes inch away from the betting pot and closer to him. Before you knew it, he would start betting his shy money as if it did not belong to the pot, but was his. He had to be watched like a hawk.

Did I mention this guy was from Chicago?"

Funny stuff!

So now your theory is we don't truly believe that Teabaggers are "a bunch of racists and crazies"?

Yeah, we do.

Not EVERY Teabagger, mind you, but the vast majority of them.
Probably 40% are racist and 90% are crazies.

No, AnonyMoron, I don't have any statistics to back that up. I freely admit that it's a guess.

An educated (what you'd call arrogant and elitist?) guess.

I'm sorry that you can't tell the difference between your dearth of intellect and "arrogance" on my part... but I guess that's just the nature of the beast.
