$200 Million a Day?

Michelle Antoinette and her husband have a lavish trip planned to Asia at taxpayer expense. During this tough economy, shouldn't they be cutting back on the extravagance?

This is one of the disadvantages of electing a man of humble beginnings; he gets a taste of high living and doesn't know when to stop the spending. The silver spoon in his mouth George W. Bush never lived so lavishly.

From the American Thinker:

Obama India trip to cost taxpayers $200 million a day
Clarice Feldman

"The Press Trust of India reports that the Obamas lavish get out of town and mambo in Mumbai trip will cost U.S. taxpayers $200 million a day.

Mumbai: 'The US would be spending a whopping $200 million (Rs 900 crore approx) per day on President Barack Obama's visit to the city. "The huge amount of around $200 million would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said. About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here.'"

Did it ever occur that it might not be so "lavish"? That it might have something to do with currency exchange rates?

And, despite your idiotic rightwingnut blather about the American Pravda... do you really think the government is paying for journalists?

It wouldn't actually cause you physical pain if you stopped to THINK for a second before you post this drivel.

Oh, so easy to contest facts with ad hominem attack. No proof, just "Did it ever occur (sic) that..." (yeah, right, the media doesn;t take exchange rates into acct).

Then the ever-popular "idiotic right-wingnut blather..." (What a great refutation of the facts -- Did you come up with that all by yourself?)

Then the red herring argument -- nobody said the 2 million a day included journalist pay. Naw, the 2 million is all to spend on his and his posse's good time. Working journalist get paid by their papers or whatever. (However, I'm sure he's taking several media friends along on our dime.)

Finally, finish with a strong ad hominem again "...if you stopped to THINK for a second before you post this drivel."

Sir of Madam, this info may upset you, but it is fact, and it is being reported by numerous sources. Why don't you think BO would do this? It fits his and Michelle's history perfectly. It's not as if he's known for his frugality with the taxpayer money.

Every hear about the "pay-offs" to labor, third world country dictators, and other friends, that came out of the "stimulus"? Or that millions are still unaccounted for? Or that now he wants ANOTHER trillion dollar stimulus?

I think it's a billion altogether, when the gov't is broke and in dept to its chin to China. I don't get the adoration of this fraud. Are you uninformed or hypnotized or being paid or -- what's the deal?

MoreLies CHOSE the words "Michelle Antoinette", "lavish" and "extravagance" in her opening paragraph. It's not a question of "the media" taking into consideration exchange rates; that's all on MoreLies for her choice of words. And "American Thinker" isn't "the media"; it's just another rightwingnut blogger.

One rightwingnut bloger citing another rightwingnut blogger, and so on, and so on, ad nauseum, does NOT create legitimacy for what they're saying in that incestuous set-up. It's nothing more than a higher tech form of gossip mongering.

As for what's included in the $200 million a day (not just $2 million, so get your gossip straight, please) who knows what's included? MoreLies cut&paste refers to "3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists." The Secret Service agents are alsmot certainly on the government tab, and the likelihood is that the unnamed "US government officials" would also be included. Why tag "journalists" on the end of hat group, if not to imply that they're somehow in on the $200 million per day "extravagance"?

You're "sure" that Obama is taking along some journalists on the taxpayer dime? On what basis would you make THAT claim? Where are YOUR facts to back up that bald-faced assertion?

How do you know these are "facts" that MoreLies has posted? Are you familiar with the journalistic integrity of "The Press Trust of India"? I'm not -- hell, I never even heard of them/it before. And where are the other "numerous sources" that have "reported" this? You mean, rightwingnut bloggers who cut & paste stuff without any concern of its truth or accuracy? You think MoreLies, or any of these others, have indpendently verified in any way the truthiness (pun intended) of these claims? Guess again! MoreLies' only criteria is "Does this source slam Obama?" If yes, then it gets printed. And she's VERY ethical... she makes sure she prints a question mark after the sensationalistic headline, so she can say "I didn't SAY he was spending $200 million a day. All I did was ASK THE QUESTION? See the question mark?"

Now, why you would feel it necessary to bring up the stimulus package in connection with the India trip is beside me... there's no connection whatsoever, except in your little pinhead. (Sorry, was that "ad hominem" too? Should I have used a questin mark?)

Why would criticism of MoresLies' blanket (and mindless) criticisms qualify as "adoration" in your dictionary? Questioning MoreLies' incessant shotgum approach to "political discussion" constitutes "adoration"? In what universe? Bizarro Rightwingtnut World?

Hey, check it out: it's yet another rightwingnut lie.

Huge surprise, eh?

Diogenes said...

So where's our new Anonymous rightwingnut buttlicker now, now that this whole anti-Obama gossip-mongering has been exposed for the lie that it is?

Where's MoreLies with her apology?

Answer: nowhere to be found.

Now diogenASS is answering herself, maybe if we keep ignoring her, her head will explode or she'll go insane.

What a clown!

LOL Good point, AnonyMoron. But the fact remains: MoreLies got caught in yet another lie, and she doesn't have the guts to admit it!

But nice attempt to divert attention from that fact, AnonyMoron.

We all know that Michelle MyBelle is heartily disliked by the average American. She could have won over hearts if she had not started with that "first time I was proud of my country" stuff. Unfortunately, not only did she apologize for it, but she built on it during her term as First Lady.

A lot of us who are suffering silently through the embarressment of this administration will be doing the barefoot Indian dance when the coupld finally leaves the White House in 2012.

1. What does Michelle Obama have to do with this?

2. How can Michelle Obama have a favoribility rating of at least 65%, according to a mid-October CNN poll, when you claim she is "heartily disliked by the average American"?

3. "Barefoot Indian dance"??? Did you REALLY, in 2010, say that aloud?
