Understanding Bible Prophecy

At this time in history, there is no greater enemy to the God of the Bible than Islam. But, what most people do not understand is that its time is short-lived.

Read from John McTernan Insights:

"I have received several emails asking for my opinion on whether Islam is going to be the end time religion and whether the Anti-christ is going to be a Muslim. I have looked at the arguments promoting that the Anti-christ is going to be a Muslim, and at this point I reject it. As time goes on and events clear up the prophetic picture, I might change my view.

The main reason that I reject this argument is that I believe the Bible teaches that God is going to destroy Islam, as we approach the Day of the LORD. I teach this both in my book As America Has Done To Israel and the DVD: America and the Day of the LORD.

To summarize my view, I believe that according to the prophet Obadiah, the first battle leading to Armageddon results in the destruction of all the Arab/Muslims surrounding Israel. Obadiah is crystal clear that all, yes all, the Palestinians will be killed or driven from Israel. When the smoke clears after the war, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and possibly Saudi Arabia are completely destroyed. Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt no longer exist. The surviving Egyptians have to flee into all the world. This is what is going to happen to the Palestinians as a result of this war:

Obadiah 1:18 "And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it."

The Israeli army is going to be awesome and destroy all the attacking nations! Israel is going to be like a fire in kindling to the surrounding Muslim nations:

Zechariah 12:6 "In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem."

With the Arab heart cut out of Islam, how is it going to take over the world? These Muslims nations are going to be totally destroyed in war with Israel. The Holy God of Israel is going to display His mighty power through the defeat of these confederated nations against Israel. Psalm 83 describes this battle, and this will be the result:

Psalm 83:16 "Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
(17) Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: (18) That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

After this battle, Muslims will be seeking the God of Israel. I believe this will turn many of them to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. It also appears, that after this battle, the Jewish people will rebuild their temple in Jerusalem. If this happens, it would show to the world the crushing defeat of Islam.

The Book of Revelation tells us what is going to be the world-wide religion during the end time. It is going to be a form of paganism, or I would call it today the New Age religion, which involves the worship of man. Revelation 17 calls it mystery Babylon the mother of harlots.

Revelation 9:20 "And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:"

The worship of the Beast and His Image in Revelation 13 fits perfectly with the New Age religion and not with Islam.

There is also a teaching connected with this that Islam is the beast of Revelation. The Bible is very clear that the Anti-christ is a person and not a political system. When the Lord Jesus returns, He is going to personally throw the Beast into the Lake of Fire. People are thrown into the Lake of Fire and not a political system. The Beast or Anti-christ is a person and not Islam or any other type of political system.

Revelation 19:20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

This is what I think is about to happen. This coming war in the Middle East is going to result in the destruction of the heart of Islam. Muslims are going to start turning away from Islam in huge numbers. Israel will rebuild the temple which will further show the defeat of Islam. Into this void will come a revival of paganism, which will set the stage to worship the Anti-christ and his image.

I could be wrong about this, but at this point in time, I see God destroying Islam. I do not see it becoming the dominant world religion. In time, it will become very clear whether Islam becomes the dominant world religion. In any event, continue to stay focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and His coming for His church.

In Revelation 19, the church is part of the armies of heaven, which return with the Lord. We are with Him, when He personally tosses the Anti-christ and false prophet into the Lake of Fire!

Revelation 19:14 "And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean."

Revelation 19:19 "And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army."
