No Head Covering for Obama

President Obama will be visiting India, along with several other nations, shortly after the November elections. He evidently wants to escape Washington, knowing the blood bath which is likely to take place for his fellow Democrats, for which I might add, he can be blamed, along with his two comrades in Congress, Pelosi and Reid. The American Pravda can play up the "it's local" argument all they like, but the fact of the matter is that opposition to Obama's socialist policies is what is driving the elections this year.

Nevertheless, it is interesting to hear that when visiting India, Obama will not be visiting the famous tourist attraction, known as the Golden Temple, a religious site for Sikhs. Obama refuses to cover his head, which is the Sikh tradition when entering the temple.

Why does he refuse to do so? Who is he afraid that he will offend? Yes, I know that he wore a yarmulke during the 2008 campaign, but that was just to seduce the voters. Let's face it, the man said and did what was necessary to deceive the gullible peons in order to get elected. But, now that he is president, the rules have changed. It's appease Muslims all the time--24/7/365.

Obama Insults India's Sikhs

"The Golden Temple( Harimandir Sahib ) in Amritsar, India is a religious site for Sikhs equivalent to the Western Wall for Jews in Israel or the Church of the Holy Sepulcher for Christians.

Aside from its symbolism to 28 million Sikhs, it's a major tourist attraction that has been visited by a number of celebrities and world leaders, from Queen Elizabeth to Canadian PM Stephen Harper. Most Indians look on it as a cherished national symbol.

But President Barack Hussein Obama is going to give it a miss when he travels to India after the midterm elections...because Obama is not willing to cover his head while in the Temple, as the Sikh tradition requires. Or so the White House says:

Now, most non-Sikh visitors to the Golden Temple simply tie on kerchiefs conveniently sold by vendors outside. And obviously Obama has no problem covering his head (or,bowing, for that matter) when he wants to. So what's going on here?

If you look at some history, there has been historic animosity between Muslims and Sikhs since the days of the Muslim jihad against India. The Sikhs fought successfully against the Muslim Mughal empire after the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed by the Muslims after refusing to convert to Islam, and many Sikhs were killed during the violence surrounding the partition of India in 1947. The animosity continues to the present day.

It's obvious that for someone who either is a Muslim or who is extraordinarily concerned with appeasing Islam and Muslim sensibilities, a visit to the Golden Temple might be a problem.

I'm pretty sure that's why Obama is giving the Golden Temple a miss. Islam must be appeased at all costs, and insulting the Sikhs and the Indians comes second.

(Montreal Gazette)- Barack Obama has reportedly abandoned plans to visit Amritsar’s Golden Temple during his visit to India next month over fears that photographs of him with his head covered would revive false claims that he is a Muslim.

Members of Mr Obama’s White House team reportedly visited India last month and told Indian officials of their concerns.

Mr Obama, whose father was a non-observant Muslim, has been dogged by rumours regarding his faith since his battle for the Democratic presidential nomination against Hillary Clinton in 2008. At times since becoming president he has highlighted the fact that his middle name is Hussein to boost his credibility abroad.

In August, a poll conducted by Time magazine found that almost one in four Americans thought he was a follower of Islam. The results came days after he waded into the dispute over controversial plans to build an Islamic centre near the site of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York.

Temple sources said on Tuesday that three teams of officials from the U.S. embassy in New Delhi had visited them in the past six weeks but that they were unaware there was any concern over wearing a headscarf. According to the Indian Express, one American official had told his Indian counterparts that Mr Obama had to remind America “each day that he should not be mistaken for Muslim just because his middle name is Hussein”.

A compromise was reportedly explored in which the president might wear a “modified baseball cap” but it is unclear whether this would have been acceptable to Sikh traditionalists.

Giani Gurbachan Singh, the temple’s head priest, was quoted saying a baseball cap would not be allowed, but Dalmir Singh, secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee, the Sikh governing body, said the president could wear anything to cover his head.'
