Libs Want Abortions in Military Hospitals

What! Fifty million slaughtered unborn babies is not enough for the Left?

Read from the Washington Times:

Bill would lift military abortion ban
Senate vote set on restriction at base hospitals

"Senate Democrats are angling to end the military's decades-old ban on allowing abortions in overseas military hospitals, thus thrusting the culture wars back onto the front burner after months of being drowned out by the nation's economic woes.

Sen. Roland W. Burris, Illinois Democrat, ushered the proposal through the Senate Armed Services Committee in May, tacking it onto the Defense Authorization Act, which the Senate is slated to consider Tuesday.

Mr. Burris' plan would require women to pay for abortions upfront and without government funds, but would allow doctors at military hospitals to perform the procedures if those conditions are met. It would overturn a policy established by congressional Republicans in the mid-1990s that restricted abortions at military hospitals only to cases of rape, incest or when the woman's life is in danger.

'I feel it is critical that we ensure our men and women in uniform have access to the highest quality of health care while they are serving overseas,' Mr. Burris said. 'This legislation simply removes a decades-old ban, allowing doctors to offer services and freeing American servicewomen to receive the medical attention they require, all without spending a single federal dollar.'

The proposal angered social and religious conservatives, including many of the 2,000 or so who converged on Washington this weekend for the Values Voter Summit. Speaking at the event, Sen. James M. Inhofe said the plan would still go to fund doctors and surgical equipment used for abortions in military hospitals, and that it should not be slipped into the defense authorization bill.

The Oklahoma Republican also warned that 'they are going to turn our military hospitals into abortion clinics' and called on the crowd to rally against lawmakers interested in moving the proposal forward."

"They are going to turn our military hospitals into abortion clinics."

How does one fight stupidity of this magnitude?

A brain is a terrible thing to waste, Senator.

Off Topic: after diogenASS and the leftwingloons attacked O’Donnell for practicing witchcraft, there seems to be people practicing Afro-Hispanic witchcraft in the democrat White House right now, say it ain’t so.

The democrats need to make sure that their own house is in order before pointing fingers and accusing others of things they themselves are doing.

How silly can you get, AnonyMouse?

First off, it's not Democratic politicians talking about O'Dennell's "dabbling" in witchcraft. Mostly, it's liberal talking heads on TV, and most are just showing how stupid O'Dennell sounds sometimes. And, I'd bet, some are hoping to wedge between O'Donnell and her hardcore Religious Rightwingnut base.

Secondly, I can't find a single attributable soource for the Marian Robinson legend, which has been out there in the blogosphere since some time in 2009. Nobody's verified any part of the story - it's just made the rounds on rightwingnut message boards -- so it's anybody's guess as to whether or not it's accurate.

Lastly, even if it is true, there's a big diference between the First Mother-in-Law's activities and those of a person running to occupy a seat in the U.S. Senate. For you to even mention it, AnonyMouse, shows how intent you are on making Democrats look bad and whitewashing anything rightwingnuts do.

Personally, if I were a vcter in Delaware, I'd be a lot more worried about the various stories that are surfacing about O'Donnell's lack of fiscal management. That, and her inane comment (only 3 years ago) that American scientists are now cross-breeding humans with animals, and that there are actual cases where mice have "fully-functioning human brains". Now THAT is disturbing. I mean, we all know where scientists could get two unused brains: O'Donnell and yourself, AnonyMouse. But Christine seems to have watched too many reruns of "Pinky and the Brain".
