He Lied!

We can beat around the bush or we can just state fact: President Obama out-and-out lies to the American people, and he does it on a regular basis with a straight face.

From the American Thinker:

The 'L' word
Aaron Gee

"What do you call a person that tells you one thing, but knows that isn't true? For instance, in March the President said 'My proposal would bring down the cost of health care for millions — families, businesses and the federal government.' On Friday our President seemed to get a small dose of reality when he said 'As a consequence of us getting 30 million additional people health care, at the margins that's going to increase our costs—we knew that.'

If this dramatic about face was an isolated incident, perhaps one could chalk it up as a 'mistake.' It isn't isolated. In that same speech where the President admits that the health care reform will cost money he also said 'We took every idea out there about how to reduce or at least slow the costs of health care over time.' Amazingly there was no meaningful tort reform allowed in the health care bill, even though in states like Texas have had great success after passing reform bills. The President refused to even consider taxing health care benefits, which economists unanimously agree would have resulted in lower costs.

The biggest whopper from Friday is this gem 'So these policies of cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans, of stripping away regulations that protect consumers, running up a record surplus to a record deficit — those policies finally culminated in the worst financial crisis we've had since the Great Depression.' No mention of Fannie or Freddie and the housing bubble that was government created. No mention of the skyrocketing energy prices that lit the fuse to the economic meltdown. No mention of the fact that AFTER the taxes were cut, government revenues increased substantially.

It's obvious to all but the most ideologically driven that President Obama has no working knowledge of what drives our economies problems and certainly no experience with solutions that can fix those problems. What President Obama does have is an ideology and facts cannot dissuade him from those beliefs. The President's world view makes him especially dangerous to America because he believes what he says regardless of the consequences or facts.

It is considered poor form to use the 'L' word in politics. Instead of the blunt direct language used by most Americans, politicians use euphemisms like 'miss spoke', 'was mistaken', etc. Unlike politicians, Americans are more blunt. The President's sophistry when promoting health care combined with his constant demagoguery on the economy has led many Americans to one conclusion; he lied."

Ahhh, there we go. Ms. MoreLies and the Rightwingnut Sound Machine have cranked up the "selective quotation" device.

What was it you quoted the President as saying?

"'As a consequence of us getting 30 million additional people health care, at the margins that's going to increase our costs—we knew that."

I guess that proves your point, that healthcare reform won't lower costs. And the President admitted a bald-faced lie.

Or..... did he?

What was the very next statement out of his mouth? What did he say right after his startling admission?

"We didn't think that we were going to cover 30 million people for free. But that the long-term trend in terms of how much the average family is going to be paying for health insurance is going to be improved as a consequence of health care."

OHHHHHHHH......

That's different,isn't it?

What the President is saying (and HAS been saying all along, if you ever bothered to listen) is that, yeah, certain marginal costs on the edges are,in the short term, going to go up. BUT IN THE LONG TERM, healthcare reform should bring down the cost of healthcare for the average American family.

Typical of you rightwingnut propagandists: when the cost of healthcare didn't immediately decrease the day that the healthcare reform bill was signed into law, you asserted that the President lied. No immediate savings on Day One? The whole idea was a sham and a lie.

You either need to grow up and realize how the world operates OR admit that you already know how the world operates, but that you're going to lie about Obama anyway.

Phonies, te lot of you. And you think Americans are so stupid that they can't see through your charade?

Americans can't see through my charade? Wake up, Diogenes, well over 1/2 the country opposes ObamaCare and wants it repealed.

It's Obama's charade that they are seeing through because HC costs are soaring, thanks to ObamaCare, and beyond the typical yearly increases.

DiogenASS: you're a women, there's no doubt about it, there is no man that’s as fanatically bigoted against Christianity as you are.

Primarily men have little time during a work week to be continually monitoring conservative blogs and they aren't nearly as temperamental and irrational as you (PMS).

The conclusion is that you're most likely either a women or a homo and work for some leftwing non-profit organization

You can tell us, don’t be ashamed, that will give the rest of us a better understanding of why you think the way you do.

Health care costs HAVE been soaring for years, not as a result of Obamacare being passed -- hardly any provision of Obamacare has actually come into effect yet.

The fact that healthcare costs have skyrocketed is one of the main reasons that Obamacare DID pass.

But you rightwingnuts have done a good job of scaring and misleading people, especially older people who are rightfully concerned about healthcare issues. So yeah, they're indicating that they want Obamacare repealed.

But in polls that ask about their opinions on the SPECIFICS of Obamacare, time after tome after time, the results show that the large majority of Americans actually WANT the reforms contained within Obamacare. They've been brainwashed into thinking that "Obamacare" is wrong.

As for you, AnonyMouse, I'm not a "women" (or a woman) or a "homo" and I'm not working for anybody except my local school district. Why you're railing about my supposed anti-Christianity is surprising, since this post and my comment have nothing to do with religion whatsoever. But, then again, who knows where your lunacy might lead you at any given moment?

You're monitoring this blog as closely as I am. By your own way of thinking, I guess that makes you a "women" or a "homo"?

The conclusions you reached once again show how intellectually challenged you are.

DiogenASS: I'm retired.

if I was still working, there's no way in hell I would have time to monitor anything other than family and work.

I don’t attack or disrespect people of faith or Christianity.

so much for your analogy.

Well, we have something in common then, AnonyMouse. I don't attack or disrespect people of faith or Christianity, either.

I just disrespect Religious Rightwingnuts, not people of faith. And, technically, they religious Rightwingnuts disrespect themselves most of the time; I just highlight their hypocrisy.
