I was speaking to an emergency room physician this morning. He told me that a woman in her 20’s came to the ER with her 8th pregnancy. She stated 'my momma told me that I am the breadwinner for the family.' He asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies and babies get money for the family. The scam goes like this: The grandma calls the Department of Child and Family Services and states that the unemployed daughter is not capable of caring for these children. DCFS agrees and states that the child or children will need to go to foster care. The grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and thus receives a check for $1500 per child per month in Illinois. Total yearly income: $144,000 tax-free, not to mention free healthcare (Medicaid) plus a monthly 'Linx' card entitling her to free groceries, etc, and a voucher for 250 free cell phone minutes per month. This does not even include Wick and other welfare programs. Indeed, grandma was correct in that her fertile daughter is the 'breadwinner' in the family.
I hope you share this story with your listeners so that they know how the ruling class spends their tax dollars.

Having more babies is THE way they get more benefits. In my state, over 30% of the population get entitlements. I see the nice SUV's at the welfare and wick offices. I see the snap cards used at grocery stores by well dressed people wearing 1000.00 worth of jewelry, then rolling their FREE food out to an Escalade or Explorer with 5000.00 worth of aftermarket wheels and tires. But these are POOR people who need help. No, they have babies out of wedlock. This is the product of liberal mentality and the entitlement system. Unwed births are very high for a reason. FREE money and benefits for life are achieved this way. This is also the reason for high school dropout rates. The parents don't care about the children, they're just a check in the mailbox.
All this is the plan of liberals. Take Headstart for example. They kids are sent off to Headstart at 3 yrs old where they are fed 2 FREE meals a day, WHILE the parents get get a FREE snap card to feed the kids the same meal. Double money for the SAME meal. Starting to see the light yet moron!!! Then when they start K-12, they are fed 2 FREE meals at school, WHILE the parents get a snap card for the SAME meal. During the summer, buses pick-up these kids twice daily and they are driven to the school for another round of double paid for FREE meals. The parents then trade off the snap money for around 50 cents on the dollar for beer, cigarettes or just cash and store owners gradually filter the snap money back out. I have no problem feeding a disadvantaged child. My problem is with the corrupt, so called parents of these children and a corrupt gov't stealing taxpayer money to fund this madness. It happens, whether your liberal eyes are fogged over or not. WAKE UP LIBERAL IDIOTS!!!

The wellfare scam is ALIVE AND WELL! As a person unemployed for over a month now I have visited the Villa Park office 3 times. I registered online and the letter I received told me the paperwork to bring. We I arrived for my 8:30am interview I waited for 1 hour to be called. Only to be told I did not bring several docs which I showed them were not on the list.
I returned a few days later with the remaining paperwork and again waited an hour or more to be told I also needed a letter of "financial management". I was told this was a simple letter that needed to be typed and signed saying I would pay my mortgage/rent by borrowing money from friends and family.
I returned the following day, checked in, waited an hour and a half to find the office closing! When asked who I was there to see I gave the name of my case worker and they told me he was not in!!!
Now, I need to return a 4th time and watch a line of every minority (oh wait in this line I AM) getting $ for food! Yet after a month + I still have received NOTHING.
Here is what I have witnessed - black, mexican and indian are the main groups in line. I even watched a mexican woman with 4 kids, when asked for ID produce a mexican passport! She is here "visiting" but seeking $ for food and health coverage!! WHICH SHE RECEIVED!!!!!!!!!
Try that on your next trip to Mexico if you dare!!!!
Next - case workers are on a first name basis with a lot of these people! I lost my job in July and began doing every and any thing to find one and did in one month!! AND I DID!!!!!!!! These lazy bastards find it easier to let IL take care of them!
What is more, (and this kills me the most) all most every one in line (adults) is overweight! No one and I mean no one is even close to starving! Maybe Michelle Obama should focus on food stamps only providing for HEALTHY food because these people are eating really bad but very often!

I too, as a healthcare worker, have seen the brand new vehicles driven by folks who supposedly have less than I do while I work and drive my 1999 Mercury Sable. These folks are getting "free" care at our clinics and don't care who is paying. I am most definitely not referring to to our dear elder population who gave us the freedom we enjoy in this generation. Clearly, whether liberal or not, any sane person realizes that with fewer people earning and more people taking we will go the way of Rome with a huge bureucracy that will one day be unable to support itself and will colapse. Then, socialism, marxism will enter the stage... that is the radical left agenda... don't get bogged down by these stories... fight for freedom, the republic and the right to choose for the people and by the people.
We have too many people in need with out needed to take care of those that can’t or won’t pull their weight. I say earn the right to have what you need, if you have earned the right that we got you covered, if not well you not going to get help so easy. On the other hand if you don’t feed the hungry, treat the sick, educate the uneducated, and check as much poverty at the door here in our great nation then when you open your door to leave your fine home guess what you are going to see? LET'S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT - SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE ARE NOT "ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS." These are programs that have been funded by mandatory deductions from our paychecks, EVERY payday of our working lives. THAT MONEY is NOT GOVERNMENT money being GIVEN away - it is OUR money that has been hijacked and spent instead of being held for us as was promised when the program was started. President Johnson (a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT) removed the last barrier to government access to these funds when he moved collected Social Security and Medicare funds from their dedicated accounts and put them in the general accounts for all of the Liberal Congress to to use for whatever they wished. ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS are programs that are funded by TAX dollars from working people's paychecks - the recipients of those TAX funds have in all likelihood contributed NOTHING to the fund and are, in most cases, leeches on society. They don't work, won't work, and won't go to school to better themselves. The education and opportunities are there - they just have to expend some effort to secure them.
I read these comments, and it astounds me to see the total denial of the liberals regarding the comments on welfare fraud. I have been a cop in Los Angeles for over 34 years, and I see it ever day. The state is paying for women to sit at home and have kids. The larger the family the more they get. Bottom line those that have ID can work the system to take home big bucks for free. They drive newer & nicer cars then I can afford... Their kids are transported to nice communities and they get free breakfast and lunch. My kids do not eat as well. I use to see mostly black and Hispanic taking advantage of the system, but in the last few years I have seen the Russian gangs and other immigrants working the system like big dogs. A recently the LA Times discovered that hundreds of millions in aid was being spent on vacations & gambling. It’s sad but California has become a welfare state and is not capable of change!!!! We've got low income housing in our town, govt assisted families paying virtually no rent, given free/reduced lunches, free after care, and tutoring on site...all subsidized! Meant to integrate low income with better income society, it has only brought down our education system and community here in Mt. Laurel NJ. Test Scores have dropped and graffiti has risen. Teaching has become less and disciplining more. I have witnessed many expensive cars dropping off children at school who I know live in these projects. These residents are also well dressed and have the most misbehaved children in the school. They make a stink when teachers reprimand their children!!! My daughter has befriended a family whose children have better jewelry and clothing than my kids and my husband makes $400,000/ year!!! Law has demanded that 1500 more of these homes be made available. What choice do successful people have? If you work hard enough to move your family to a good town, good school system, only to have the ghetto mandated to be built a mile away! Why has America become the land of entitlement??? I am all for programs that get people back on their feet, but it seems like too many are freeloading losers. How do we begin to solve this problem.

I don't know if the above situation is true or not. I do know about "crazy" money. That is where a person either coaches their kids to act crazy, or their kids really are, but either way they coach them to act up. Then they will get labeled in school as requiring special ed. (call it what you like). This then entitles the kids to get about $800 per month sent to the parent, via our SSI payments.
Throw in free health care, food stamps, energy assistance, and more, and you have a pretty good deal going with crazy money.
I was on a School Board, and heard this from teachers who were frustrated. And we wonder why some kids act up all the time.

I am the single parent of 2 boys - 11 and 21. The first was born when I was 17. I can tell you first hand that I lived this story, except for the amounts - it's not $1500 a month, or $144K a year. It's less, but these people don't care about the amount, they care about not having to get a job. Period. I spent time in jail because the grandmother in my situation made that call to get her money, so they came after me and hauled me into jail as a deadbeat - 20 years later, I have sole custody of both of them with no support.
The grandmother got a huge increase in her welfare check because my son was born, even though I supported him then and all the way till now. I was as liberal as they come way back in the day, now I'm apparently a "neo-con" because I tell it like it is.

I tried to get financial info on exactly how much would be paid to a foster parent in Ill, and it is very vague at best. Even if they do not get $1500.00 per child(which did sound like it was inflated ), without the ability to get the transparent info from DCFS we really do not know how Much they are being paid, and how much other money for benefits are involved that the taxpayer is being billed for. If dcfs published a schedule of finances that would be given if you became a foster parent, things like this story might not spread far. I tend to believe that there is extreme abuse of The foster parent program, just because DCFS makes it too hard for the people who are paying for this to get info on just what it is costing them.

British reader. I just received an anglicized version of this circular. With the pound being worth around $1.50 you can imagine the gnashing of teeth over breakfast. I usually read Snopes, truthorfiction and various forums before I discuss any of these type of messages.
Passing on information without checking for truth is lazy and self limiting. Illinois has online information about welfare benefits. Apparently the urologist concerned either didn't check his sources or far worse, did check but thought that the original exaggeration had more impact.
In the UK we pay more tax than Americans. Welfare abuse usually only hits the national front pages in a sustained way when the Government of the day wants to change something about the welfare system. This is happening here now and the email circular (not the only one of it's type) must be coincidental in timing, right!!
As far as self-interest is concerned, if I was a poorly paid urologist who watched all his better paid colleagues driving Mercs and golfing on tax-payer dollars in the Caymens. Many years ago I worked in the office of a department store in CA. I, too, believed the welfare fraud story of mothers giving birth to make money. These mothers were given a type of credit card to buy clothing for their children. I believe there was a limit and other safety features. So, I came to see that I was probably wrong. If you want to believe, for instance, that the Democrats use this method to "BUY" votes nothing that anyone says will change your mind no matte how wrong you are. So, as long as you are in the minority, that's OK. Some welfare fraud no doubt does exist. Have a conversation with your state representatives. They are supposed to be guarding the bank.
