Now, why in the world would they come up with such an idea? Could it be the frequent pandering to those in the Arab world, the bow of submission to the Saudi king, the hatred of Israel, the decision to order NASA to concentrate on building up Muslims, the support for the Ground Zero mosque? My, the list goes on and on. Actions do certainly speak louder than words.
Whether or not the president is a Muslim is debatable. Some days I think he is; other days I see him as nothing more than a narcissist who worships himself and himself alone. Either way though, he is governing as an Islamophiliac, and how he governs is what matters. Needless to say, it sure is entertaining having this conversation.
One thing is for sure--Obama is no Christian. How many Christians do you know who support infanticide, abortion on demand, and homosexuality?
Read from the American Thinker:
Growing number of Americans believe Obama a Muslim
Thomas Lifson
"There is a lot of media handwringing this morning over a poll indicating 18 percent of the American public (up from 11 percent in March, 2009) believe President Obama is a Muslim. The AP's headline on its article about the poll sets the tone: 'Poll: Growing number incorrectly call Obama Muslim.' The Washington Post puts its disapproval in the lead of its story on the poll:
'The number of Americans who believe -- wrongly -- that President Obama is a Muslim has increased significantly since his inauguration and now account for nearly 20 percent of the nation's population.'
Of course, blame for this is easy to identify for the worried WaPo journos:
'The president's religion, like his place of birth, has been the subject of Internet-spread rumors and falsehoods since before he began his presidential campaign, and the poll indicates that those rumors have gained currency since Obama took office. The number of people who now correctly identify Obama as a Christian has dropped to 34 percent, down from nearly half when he took office.'
The AP journos offer another explanation:
'His full name, Barack Hussein Obama, sounds Muslim to many.'
'To many'? Are there people who think this sounds like a Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Hundu name?
None of the above journos mention the memorable moment when Obama spoke of 'my Muslim faith:
Nor his striking bow before the Saudi King -- the protector of Mecca and Medina.

Then there is the small matter of Obama's ditching any Christian religious observance since leaving Trinity United Church, headed by Louis Farrakhan-honoring, America-hating pastor Jeremiah Wright. And his skipping of the National Prayer Breakfast. The poll was taken before the President's hosting of an Iftar (Ramadan) dinner at the White House, endorsing the Ground Zero Mosque.
What nobody on the left will acknowledge is that the systematic cover-up of Obama's documents -- his long form birth certificate, his academic records, his travel records (that curious trip to Pakistan while a college student that nobody in the press is the least bit curious about) -- has led to deep skepticism about the biographical narrative ginned up by his campaign.
As J.R. Dunn notes today, a cumulative picture of the president has been built by his actions. His first interview was with an Arab television network, his first major speech was an address to the Muslim world in Cairo.
I am agnostic on the president's faith. He says he is a Christian, but the version of Christianity he embraces, Black Liberation Theology, does not strike many people as genuine Christianity so much as genuine Marxism.
In other words, like me, many Americans are skeptical that the version of Barack Obama presented to us by his campaign, his media claque, and his carefully crafted rhetoric, is not the genuine story of the man. His own obfuscation of large parts of his past is the fundamerntal reason why so many of us are skeptical."
And the second poll shows even more people believe Obama is a Muslim. From Gateway Pundit:
"One in four Americans believe Barack Obama is Muslim. Less than half of Americans were persuaded that his attendance at a wack-a-doodle church for 20 years would qualify him as a Christian.
TIME reported:
'Opponents of the planned Islamic community center and mosque near Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan have public opinion firmly in their corner. According to a new TIME poll, 61% of respondents oppose the construction of the Park51/Cordoba House project, compared to 26% who support it. More than 70% concur with the premise that proceeding with the plan would be an insult to the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center…
…Twenty-eight percent of voters do not believe Muslims should be eligible to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. Nearly one third of the country thinks adherents of Islam should be barred from running for President — slightly higher than the 24% who mistakenly believe that the current occupant of the Oval Office is himself a Muslim. In all, just 47% of respondents believe Obama is a Christian; 24% declined to respond to the question or said they were unsure, and 5% believe he is neither Christian nor Muslim.'
Of course, to be fair… Many Muslim leaders believe Obama is a Muslim, too."
FYI: Many Muslims attended Obama's church of 20 years, Trinity United Church of Christ, according to a church employee. The America-hating, anti-Semite "Rev." Jeremiah Wright was once a Muslim.

Ms. MoreLies, you asked "Now, why in the world would they come up with such an idea?"
Well, why not read about what the poll takers had to say on that issue? From the AP article:
"Six in 10 of those saying Obama is a Muslim said they got the information from the media, with the largest portion — 16 percent — saying it was on television. Eleven percent said they learned it from Obama's behavior and words."
What does that mean? Although it pains me to say it, it means that Faux Noise is, at least to some extent, accomplishing its mission. Faux lies loudly enough and often enough about this President thatdopes who only watch Faux believe this tripe.
As for the Islamic cultural center, it doesn't matterwhat percentage of dopes oppose it, since it's a constitutional matter. But you did, probably inadvertently, provide some data that I hadn't seen before, Ms. MoreLies. And it is truly scary:
28% of Americans believe that Muslims should not be eligible to sit on the Supreme Court?
Almost 1/3 believe that no Muslim should be allowed to even RUN for President?
If that's true (and, with anything you provide, Ms. MoreLies, I have my questions) that is TRULY a sad state of affairs. That sort of thought is as un-American as one can get. It's alarming that 1/3 of Americans so badly understand our nation's heritage.
But, on the other hand, that means 2/3 of the American population DOES understand what America stands for... which means we still outnumber you rightwingnuts 2-to-1, thank God!
Obama is not a muslim any more than he is a Christian. He is an agnostic and a secular humanist who believes in the liberation theology that sprung out of a radical segment of the black church.
