HHS funds 'gay' sex education

"The Department of Health and Human Services has released two sex-education funding grants under the new healthcare law, one of which calls to indoctrinate school children in the homosexual lifestyle.
The measure will allocate $55 million to fund the Personal Responsibility Education Program and $50 million to abstinence-only programs. The responsibility of the former is to provide comprehensive sex education, which is to include curriculum based on 'the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth on how their programs will be inclusive of and non-stigmatizing toward such participants.'
'Once again we see the Obama administration placing politics before what is in the best interest of our nation's youth,' laments Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs at Liberty Counsel. 'This is a purely political maneuver, and it really amounts to malpractice on the part of the Department of Health and Human Services....'
He goes on to argue that health officials are doing a disservice in convincing youth that a practice should be tolerated when that behavior is a proven risk for STDs and HIV/AIDS. Parents are also left out of the process, he notes.
'We have really entered the age of the nanny state,' Barber decides. 'The government, led by leftist activists, believes that they know better than parents do about the proper upbringing and education of their children.'
So the Liberty Counsel cultural affairs director concludes the government is using children as pawns to enforce the political future they envision. He warns that that is not just about tolerance, but it is about accepting the homosexual lifestyle as an equal to heterosexuality."

Every school district that I've worked in and know of allows any parent to opt their child out of sex ed in school... even at the high school level. Parents are the gatekeepers for EVERY sex ed program.
And if you're going to offerthe lame "but parents don't know what's going on" then I say "Shame on them." If it's that important to them, they should make it their point to find out. Ask questions. Get answers. Act like a parent, instead of whining like a rightwingnut stooge.

If so -- if a parent was so clueless -- I'd like to laugh in their face. I'd want to tell them that they're the most negligent parent I've ever encountered. But I'd probably settle for telling the parent what was in the program and that s/he had the option to pull the kid at any time.
Diogenes, do you really think parents are aware of the level of homosexual indoctrination in schools, whether it be through sex-ed classes or in general? Unless they are super-informed about the public school agenda, I doubt they would even consider that such activities would take place.
Most parents are overwhelmed with work schedules and family demands when they get home. The leftists who run the schools are well aware of this fact and are taking advantage of clueless parents to promote their agenda.
