It's Not His Name

obama shoe
An official White House photo of Obama speaking to Netanyahu

Not only does President Obama show no respect for the office of the president, but he arranges for this photo to be seen worldwide, knowing that the act of showing the soles of his shoes is viewed as an insult in the Arab world.

That being said, the recent White House visit by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was nothing more than a dog and pony show. The two men despise one another, but for political purposes, they both are posing as allies. Netanyahu is attempting to keep the liberal Israeli media off his back, as Israeli-U.S. relations are important to Israelis. Obama, on the other hand, is play acting because his party faces tough elections in November, and he does not want to alienate Jewish voters.

It's nothing more than a charade. Obama has a history of associating with anti-Semites and anti-Zionists. In spite of his sordid past, he has the audacity to blame Israeli hostility on his Muslim middle name. Hey, Mr. President, I think there's a little more to Israeli suspicions than your middle name. Try examining your past treatment of Bibi, as well as your creepy Israel-hating friends. While you have kissed up to the Palestinian Abbas, you were down-right rude to Netanyahu on his visit in March.

Read about Obama' comment, via Jihad Watch:

Obama claims Israelis suspicious of him because his middle name is Hussein

"Of course! That's it! It's just anti-Muslim bigotry! Obama may have forgotten all the foes of Israel among his appointees and associates. Here are a few:

• Samantha Power, National Security Council's Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights
• Robert Malley, key foreign policy adviser
• Zbigniew Brzezinski, foreign policy adviser
• Rosa Brooks, advisor to the undersecretary of Defense for policy
• Chuck Hagel, co-chair of the Intelligence Advisory Board

No, it doesn't have anything to do with that. It's just because his middle name is Hussein.

You know, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar....

That photo of Obama with his feet up on the desk originally made th rounds of the rightwingnut blogsphere with the semi-ridiculous claim that Obama was showing disrespect for the office of the President.

And then, with a simple Google of "president feet desk" anyone can see that there are also photos of George W. Bush AND Gerald Ford with their feet up on their Oval Office desks.

Are you suggesting that Bushie and Gerry were showing their disrespect for Israel and the Jewish community by showing the soles of their feet??

The funniest part of your stupid little rightwingnut display is that you ridicule the idea that Netanyahu dislikes Obama because of his middle name... and then you back it up with an equally stupid idea that the image of the soles of Obama's shoes were was circulated throughout the Muslim world as a super-secret-coded message to Muslims that Obama hates Jews!

If I ever come to believe that the majority of Americans are as bigoted, biased, and stupid as those of you on the rightwingnut fringe, I'd give up. But, thankfully, all you are is part of a raggedy old fringe.

I feel confident that Bush did not show the soles of his shoes while speaking to an Israeli leader. Obama did and made sure the photo was posted so Israel's enemies would see the photo.

You actually have NO way of knowing who Obama was talking to at that moment, do you? Yeah, your rightwingnut bloggers claim it was Netanyahu, but any proof? How did Obama go about "posting" it? On his own little blog? And does showing the soles of your shoes work when you're talking on the phone? Netanyahu never saw the bottom of his shoes, so is that still an insult? And it's not an insult in the Jewish community, so is it really insulting to Netanyahu? Maybe it's actually insulting the Muslim worldm since they're the ones that see Obama's soles?

What this is is just a crock of crap drummed up by some rightwingnut with way too much time on her hands!

You know, I did a little more research. And it turns out that President Obama was, in fact, talking with Netanyahu in this phone call. In June 2009... over a year ago!

That's one loooooooooong insult!

By the way, I'm sitting with my feet up on the coffee table, using my laptop to wrote this. No disrespect intended! (At least, not by the position of my feet.)

What possible difference does it make that this happened in June of 2009? It was still intended as an insult.

Obama, the expert on all things Muslim, was well aware that such an action is considered an insult in the Muslim world, which is precisely why he did it. Then, he released a White House photo so the Muslim world would see it.

Why can't you admit this is the case? Why else would he have released the photo?

There are THOUSANDS of photographs that become available to the public once taken by the White House photographer. It's routine.

It's amazing that YOU, of all people, just "knows" what the President of the United States "intends", when you don't even know your own mind, until some other rightwingnut blogger tells you what to think! A parrot, with just a little extra training, could do what you do.

You are living breathing proof that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
