Truly, the Gulf oil spill has been a catastrophe of epic proportions and is causing devastation to the livelihood of Gulf residents. My question is: Is President Obama milking this environmental disaster for all its worth so as to push forth his radical environmental agenda?
Why would I suggest such an idea? Because he is not pursuing offers of assistance to help stop this nightmare. Why else would he be so negligent?
Obama certainly is appearing incompetent, and this is not causing Americans to be impressed with his "leadership" under pressure. But, he may not care if it achieves his ultimate purpose of shutting down big oil. He is likely confident that he can smooth-talk his way back into the hearts of gullible Americans before the 2012 elections.

Oil Boom Manufacturer: We Notified Government 4 WEEKS AGO That We Have Product (Video) …Update: Team O Learns of Maine Company in Live Interview
"Two weeks ago Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) requested more oil boom to save the Louisiana marshes.
At least 125 miles of Louisiana coastline has been ruined by the BP oil spill. Tar blobs began washing up on Florida’s white sand beaches near Pensacola last week. And, crude oil has also been reported along barrier islands in Alabama and Mississippi.
Oil boom manufacture Packgen has miles of floating oil containment boom in warehouse right now and they say they can make lots more on short notice. Packgen owner John Lapoint said his company is ramping up production to make 90,000 feet of oil boom per day.
But, there’s a hitch. The company notified the government 4 WEEKS AGO that they have oil boom but they they won’t buy it. BP sent representatives 4 weeks ago to check out the manufacturer and they are going to send representatives again this week. The boom is sitting in a warehouse as the coastline is destroyed.
They first alerted the government 4 WEEKS AGO. They can produce more boom than anyone in the US and abroad.
'Fox and Friends' Interviews John Lapoint, the owner of Packgen, about the continuing efforts of Packgen to get the oil containment boom that is so desperately needed to the people of the Gulf Coast."
Read it all.
The following comment at Gateway Pundit says it best:
"If you haven’t gotten the idea by now that the mishandling and neglect of this crisis is a deliberate action on the part of the Obama administration you had better take another look. All help – rejected. All advice – rejected. All requests for approval – rejected.
How long will this go on? Until the great states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Missippi and Oklahoma are economically devastated and our oil drilling capacity is utterly destroyed for years to come."
Read more from Michelle Malkin:
"...the Obama administration’s response, or lack thereof, has been, by most measures, a disaster.
The most recent example is this: It turns out that there are only two kind of people Obama will refuse help from: People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch:
'Three days after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dutch government offered to help.
It was willing to provide ships outfitted with oil-skimming booms, and it proposed a plan for building sand barriers to protect sensitive marshlands.
The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, "Thanks" but no thanks,’” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.'
In the several weeks since, BP and the Obama administration reconsidered the offer:
'U.S. ships are being outfitted this week with four pairs of the skimming booms airlifted from the Netherlands and should be deployed within days. Each pair can process 5 million gallons of water a day, removing 20,000 tons of oil and sludge.
At that rate, how much more oil could have been removed from the Gulf during the past month?'"

"BTW, our compassionate president was too busy attending a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer to show up for a memorial service for the 11 oil workers killed in the Gulf oil explosion."
Yep yep yep. Same old rightwingnut BS:
"On Thursday, the people some have called forgotten victims – the families of the 11 workers killed when the rig exploded – met with President Obama and Democratic lawmakers to press for more compensation. Mr. Obama had invited the families to the White House and met with them privately for nearly an hour in the East Room of the White House. He told them he still spoke with victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, one attendee said, and promised that he would not forget them in the months and years ahead."

So an hour-long private meeting with the victims' families just isn't good enough for you? President Obama just doesn't care about those people, does he?
You're a liar and a fraud, Ms. MoreLies.
As for the issue of booms, the issue is not that there aren't enough booms. The issue is that the booms aren't staying in place, and the submerged oil is getting in under the booms.
But your really bright shining moment, Ms. MoreLies, is when you quoted that erudite commenter at Outhouse Pundit. (Now you're cutting & pasting COMMENTERS? How truly sad.)
"How long will this go on? Until the great states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Missippi and Oklahoma are economically devastated and our oil drilling capacity is utterly destroyed for years to come."
First off, I'm pretty sure it's M-I-DOUBLE S-I-DOUBLE S-I-DOUBLE P-I. Every second grader in the country (except those actually living in Mississippi) knows how to spell that one.
But then, the piece de resistance: this commenter moron somehow thinks the state of OKLAHOMA is going to be destroyed by the Gulf oil spill? That'd be one hell of a tidal wave, in order to reach all the way into Oklahoma. We may not be safe here in Colorado, even!
You got me on that one, Diogenes. I read that comment too quickly and missed the Oklahoma part. Oh, and you've misspelled words too. Nevertheless, the commenter gets the gist of what's going on here.
Diogenes, I took down the link about Obama not attending the memorial service, now that I know that he did meet with the families.
I happen to live in Mississippi and can spell it and many other big words. I'm fairly certain that a large percentage of the chicago south side (probably 99% democrats)can't spell their own names, but they are great at robberies and home invasions( another product of the commie dems). It's weird that obama is looking for someone's ass to kick over this. Then why is it that the feds who oversee these operations never get their ass kicked for doing a piss poor job? Where is all the money that is funneled to these idiots so they can "protect" us? Stolen!!!
Hey, way to go, JD. You sure picked up that "I'm-a-racist-redneck-moron-and-proud-of-it" ball and ran with it! South Side Chicagoans (with a very large African-American population, of course) can't spell their own names and specialize in robberies and home invasions? YEAH BABEEEEEEEEE!!!!
As Jeff Foxworthy might say, "You may be a redneck if you don't use your own name, but initials, because they're easier to spell."
My response was based on your comment about people from Mississippi. That doesn't make me a redneck or racist. The chicago comment was based on the fact that despite the billions of dollars spent on education in these "impoverished" areas and calls for more from "educated" people such as yourself, it is a failed attempt to put perfume on a pig. I notice you didn't try to answer my claims, only attacking one comment. This is simply because you have read the saul alinsky handbook on how to cover up your own stupidity without really having a valid counter point. So quit throwing your liberal temper tantrum and actually make a sane statement.
