Obama Votes 'Present' - And Flees To Copenhagen
"Your approval ratings are plummeting and it's obvious the honeymoon is over. The nation is in a fiscal crisis, with unemployment and a huge deficit of historic proportions.The dollar's status internationally is threatened.Your administration has been directly linked with some of the most corrupt and radical elements in American political life and you're at the final stages of a battle to control America's healthcare, which doesn't look like it's going your way.
It's time for a major decision on Afghanistan, your vaunted diplomacy is a colossal failure especially in the Middle East, and other world leaders are snickering at you behind their hands. Russia is increasingly aggressive and Iran has responded to that famous unclenched hand you offered by contemptuously testing new missiles as the knowledge of other previously hidden Iranian nuclear sites becomes public.
So whaddya do?
Barack Obama has the answer all right....road trip!
Yes, the president decided to bug out and vote 'present' by fleeing to Copenhagen, Denmark for the essential, urgent task of lobbying the International Olympic Committee to make Chicago the site of the 2016 Olympics.
And he's taking Michelle and Oprah with him.That's not unexpected,given that Obama has spent more time with Oprah than he has with General McChrystal, the commander he appointed to make sense of the mess in Afghanistan. For that matter, forget about Oprah - he's probably spent more one-on-one time with David Letterman then with McChrystal.
This little excursion is a presidential payback to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, who expects that he and his cronies can expect to make millions on the deal. It will involve no less than two other luxury 757's including Air Force One - one for backup and communications , and another for Michelle and her multi-million dollar entourage, not to mention Oprah's people.
This doesn't include the cost in man hours for the dozens of staffers employed in taking care of every detail, or the several Air Force cargo planes that precede the president's party and are loaded with security personnel, armored limos, communications gear, and other vital supplies like extra arugula and spare stocks of $100 per pound wagu beef should the president or his guests not find Danish cuisine to their liking, or just want a special little snack to remind them of home.
This particular road trip will cost the American taxpayer at least $10 million dollars and probably more..but who's counting?
This is what happens when you stick someone in the White House who lacks any semblance of understanding about what the job involves and who's only discernible qualifications are a slick image, a signature baritone and the ability to read a teleprompter.
When the going gets tough, people like Obama get going...in the other direction.
We'll undoubtedly see more of this behavior during the rest of Obama's time in office. Although sometimes, it will simply involve avoidance and hiding in the White House rather than actually hitting the road.
Remember, you can't say I didn't give him a chance.
UPDATE: Bill Kristol senses that the natives on both sides of the aisle are not pleased at this behavior and figures President Obama will try to generate some nice PR and appear presidential with a surprise trip and photo op in Afghanistan in time to hit the evening news cycle on Friday.

America really got swindled when it came to the campaign of "hope and change". As so many of us have said over and over again, elections have consequences, and the election of 2008 has had significant cosequences.

Physicians Oppose Public Option
Not only do average Americans oppose healthcare legislation including a public option, but those involved in medical treatment, our physicians, are strongly opposed to such a plan.

"78% of physicians polled in a recent survey said that the public option would negatively impact the quality of health care in this country.

'Sermo.com, an online community for physicians, surveyed 2,566 U.S. Physicians on public options, co-ops and how health care reform might impact care they provide their patients. The results? Physicians overwhelmingly disagree with the current reforms on the table.
When asked if either of the alternatives to private insurance being discussed–a public option and a co-op option–address the real sources of spiraling health care costs, 92 percent of the 2,566 physicians said no. These medical professionals are not content to do nothing; 62 percent said that reforming the health insurance industry is critically important to any effort to reform the current health care system.
Seventy-eight percent believe that a public option would negatively impact the quality of care they can provide their patients. Yesterday’s vote against a public option in the Senate committee may be a temporary setback for the President’s plan. Co-ops, however, are a stepping stone to a public option and are being considered as an alternative; this idea also fails to garner physician support. Sixty-eight percent of the physicians surveyed say a co-op plan would have similarly negative results. Additionally, if health care reform “as currently envisioned” is passed, 47 percent of those surveyed said they would stop accepting insurance or Medicare/Medicaid.'"

'Senate Finance Committee Democrats rejected a proposed requirement that immigrants prove their identity with photo identification when signing up for federal healthcare programs.
Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said that current law and the healthcare bill under consideration are too lax and leave the door open to illegal immigrants defrauding the government using false or stolen identities to obtain benefits.
Grassley's amendment was beaten back 10-13 on a party-line vote.
The bill, authored by committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), would require applicants to verify their names, places of birth and Social Security numbers. In addition, legal immigrants would have to wait five years, as under current law, after obtaining citizenship or legal residency to access federal healthcare benefits such as Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program or receive tax credits or purchase insurance through the exchange created by the legislation.
But the would not require them to show a photo ID, such as a drivers license. Without that requirement, the bill "remains dearly lacking when it comes to identification," Grassley said. "Frankly, I'm very perplexed as to why anyone would oppose this amendment," he said.'

Muslim Spin About Honor Killings and Violence
The recent beheading of a Muslim woman in Buffalo, NY, has resulted in the Muslim community attempting to spin its way out of the role Islam plays in "honor killings".

How many wives did the Muslim Prophet Muhammad have, and was he married to them simultaneously?
Such topics were discussed Sunday at a women's-only seminar sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Buffalo chapter. About 100 women, mostly Muslim, attended the event in the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga.
The seminar was partly in response to the case of Aasiya Zubair Hassan, a Muslim wife and mother who was beheaded Feb. 12, allegedly by her Pakistan-born husband and business partner in their Orchard Park television studio.
"The crime was labeled as an honor killing. We want people to know there is no place for honor killing in Islam," said Tahmina Rehman, seminar organizer and president of the organization's Buffalo chapter.'
Is that so? Then why did Syria recently scrap a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but 'the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour "provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing."'? Wow -- two years for murder! You can serve more time than that for serial double parking. Why did the Jordanian Parliament vote down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings? Al-Jazeera reported that 'Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.'
'Shanaz Butt, moderator for the event as well as acting dean for research and graduate studies and a pharmacology professor at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, said misconceptions about Islam include the idea of jihad, which is often associated with the military, violence and bloodshed.
But lost in translation is the true meaning of the word, which is to strive or to make an effort, Butt said.
"A student trying to pass an exam is a jihadist. A mother raising her children is a jihadist. The people in the seminar are all jihadists because we are striving," she added.'
Indeed. But note the careful language here. Is Butt actually saying that jihad does not involve warfare or the subjugation of non-Muslims? Not according to this report. From this report it appears that she started talking about etymology and thereby misdirected her audience, giving them the impression that jihad had no martial or military aspect, without ever coming out and saying so.
In any case, jihad does have a military aspect. One manual of Islamic law defines it as an imperative to make war against 'Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians...until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax.' ('Umdat al-Salik o9.8)
'Often Islam is portrayed as a backward and barbaric, viewing women as weak and submissive to a religion that oppresses them, said the speakers.
They acknowledged that some Muslim women are not treated well, but said that should not be blamed on Islamic religious law, or shariah.
The problem is those who misinterpret the teachings to suit their own agendas.
"They use different interpretations; hence, we see acts of terrorism conducted in the name of Islam. Some use it to condone beating of wives," said Saliha Malik, a professor at Brown University, who converted to Islam in 1987.'
Imagine! Where could they have gotten such an idea? Could it be from Koran 4:34, which tells men to beat their disobedient wives after first warning them and then sending them to sleep in separate beds? This is, of course, an extremely controversial verse, so it is worth noting how several translators render the key word here, وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ, waidriboohunna.
Pickthall: 'and scourge them'
Yusuf Ali: '(And last) beat them (lightly)'
Al-Hilali/Khan: '(and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful)'
Shakir: 'and beat them'
Sher Ali: 'and chastise them'
Khalifa: 'then you may (as a last alternative) beat them'

I guess they all got it wrong!
'Muhammad's relationships with his 12 wives, the speakers said, show him as a role model for treating a wife.
Even though the prophet had many spouses, he was in a monogamous marriage for 25 years with his first wife, Khadija.
He became polygamous after she died, Malik said, but not to satisfy his physical appetites.'
How would Malik, or anyone, know this?
'His marriages were examples of how a man should treat his wife, said Nusrat Rashid, a Philadelphia attorney and guest speaker.
In addition, she said, Muhammad united various Islamic tribes through his marriages, and he demonstrated compassion, fairness and justice to women.
His 11 other wives included elderly widows, two war widows, a non-Arab slave, a Jewish widow who converted to Islam and a widow with small children.
"Muhammad never beat his wives. He didn't yell at them. If they were angry with him, he played aloof and stayed away from them for a short while," said Malik, who referred to specific verses in the Quran to prove the points.'
There is no verse in the Koran that says that Muhammad didn't beat his wives, or yell at them. I challenge anyone reading this to prove otherwise. And Muhammad 'never beat his wives'? Yet Aisha, his favorite wife, says that at one point 'he struck me on the chest which caused me pain.'
'According to the text, Malik said, wives were created for husbands to find peace of mind in them and that it is unlawful to "inherit women against their will," or to detain them wrongfully.
"There are so many inaccuracies," Rehman said. "We're trying to teach and clear up misconceptions and trying to get people to understand that Islam is about peace and love, not oppression and depression."'
Telling the truth might be a good way to start."

Party Differences on National Security
Liberals have a history of being weak on issues of national security. When called out on this fact, they get all up in arms and start in with the "Republicans are war mongers" mantra. Sorry, but you liberals just cannot be trusted to protect our nation and its citizens from the evil forces at work worldwide.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats on national security
"Rarely do we get to see two stories on the same day providing such a clear contrast in the direction the two political parties take in national security. First, we have Republicans in the Senate offering an amendment to keep funds from the White House for the closing of Guantanamo Bay and the relocation of 148 of the worst terrorist detainees we’ve captured. The amendment would extend a ban Congress imposed in the spring when Barack Obama and his team attempted to bypass the legislature on their Gitmo-closing project:
'Senators are again trying to stop the Obama administration from closing the Guantanamo Bay detention facility by blocking the money needed to transfer the remaining and most notorious prisoners to the United States, Sen. James. M. Inhofe said Tuesday.
The restriction is part of the Defense Appropriations Bill now being debated on the Senate floor and would extend similar legislation that expires Oct. 1.
Mr. Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, supports the bill and thinks it will pass because the 148 remaining prisoners are what he calls “the real bad guys,” including accused al-Qaeda leader Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
“I think we may be in a (good) position,” Mr. Inhofe, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told The Washington Times “America’s Morning News” radio show. “Now that we’re down to the real hardcore, you’ve got to keep that thing open.”'
Dianne Feinstein thinks differently, but that’s not a big shock. She probably will be in the minority, especially since Democrats have already put themselves in a bad enough position over health care and the upcoming cap-and-trade bill. Voting to bring the worst of the terrorists into American prisons would just about guarantee massive losses in the midterms, if not already certain.
And if that doesn’t do it, the latest effort to punish the telecoms for working with the Bush administration on national security has also hit the floor of the upper chamber:
'Four Democratic senators have introduced a bill that would, if passed, repeal the legal immunity afforded the telecommunications industry for their participation in President George W. Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.
Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Russ Feingold (D-WI), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) announced the measure Monday. In a release, they said the bill “eliminates retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies that allegedly participated in President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.”
The four senators, all liberal Democrats, emphasized that they believed granting the industry immunity violated the law and due process.'
They have great timing. The recent exposure of two terror plots by al-Qaeda this month highlighted how important those communication intercepts were in protecting American lives. Even though the American media chose not to focus on this, the conviction of al-Qaeda plotters in the 2007 conspiracy to blow up several flights from the UK to the US relied heavily on these intercepts as well as in uncovering the planned attack, as the UK’s Channel 4 and Wired Magazine reported this month:
'The three men convicted in the United Kingdom on Monday of a plot to bomb several transcontinental flights were prosecuted in part using crucial e-mail correspondences intercepted by the U.S. National Security Agency, according to Britain’s Channel 4.
The e-mails, several of which have been reprinted by the BBC and other publications, contained coded messages, according to prosecutors. They were intercepted by the NSA in 2006 but were not included in evidence introduced in a first trial against the three last year.
That trial resulted in the men being convicted of conspiracy to commit murder; but a jury was not convinced that they had planned to use soft drink bottles filled with liquid explosives to blow up seven trans-Atlantic planes — the charge for which they were convicted this week in a second trial.
According to Channel 4, the NSA had previously shown the e-mails to their British counterparts, but refused to let prosecutors use the evidence in the first trial, because the agency didn’t want to tip off an alleged accomplice in Pakistan named Rashid Rauf that his e-mail was being monitored. U.S. intelligence agents said Rauf was al Qaeda’s director of European operations at the time and that the bomb plot was being directed by Rauf and others in Pakistan.

First, we have Republicans in the Senate offering an amendment to keep funds from the White House for the closing of Guantanamo Bay and the relocation of 148 of the worst terrorist detainees we’ve captured. The amendment would extend a ban Congress imposed in the spring when Barack Obama and his team attempted to bypass the legislature on their Gitmo-closing project:

Dianne Feinstein thinks differently, but that’s not a big shock. 'Four Democratic senators have introduced a bill that would, if passed, repeal the legal immunity afforded the telecommunications industry for their participation in President George W. Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.
Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Russ Feingold (D-WI), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) announced the measure Monday. In a release, they said the bill “eliminates retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies that allegedly participated in President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.”
The four senators, all liberal Democrats, emphasized that they believed granting the industry immunity violated the law and due process.'
They have great timing. The recent exposure of two terror plots by al-Qaeda this month highlighted how important those communication intercepts were in protecting American lives. Even though the American media chose not to focus on this, the conviction of al-Qaeda plotters in the 2007 conspiracy to blow up several flights from the UK to the US relied heavily on these intercepts as well as in uncovering the planned attack, as the UK’s Channel 4 and Wired Magazine reported this month:
'The three men convicted in the United Kingdom on Monday of a plot to bomb several transcontinental flights were prosecuted in part using crucial e-mail correspondences intercepted by the U.S. National Security Agency, according to Britain’s Channel 4.
The e-mails, several of which have been reprinted by the BBC and other publications, contained coded messages, according to prosecutors. They were intercepted by the NSA in 2006 but were not included in evidence introduced in a first trial against the three last year.

Let's see here. We have evil enemies throughout the world which represent a real threat: Iran, North Korea, Russia, etc. Will President Obama dare to confront any of these dangerous foes? No, when he is not posing before TV cameras, he is hard at work sticking it to that "mean old Israel". What a sorry excuse for a president!
Now if only we could get him to work this diligently at solving America's unemployment crisis. Oh, that's right. He doesn't want that particular problem solved. He and his buddy Rahm Emanuel are looking for crises which can't be wasted.

GENEVA, Sept 29 (Reuters) - 'The United States called on its close ally Israel on Tuesday to conduct credible investigations into allegations of war crimes committed by its forces in Gaza, saying it would help the Middle East peace process.
Michael Posner, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, said that Hamas leaders also had a responsibility to investigate crimes and to end what he called its targeting of civilians and use of Palestinian civilians as human shields in the strip.
The U.N. Human Rights Council was holding a one-day debate on a recent report by Richard Goldstone, a South African jurist and former U.N. war crimes prosecutor.
His panel found the Israeli army and Palestinian militants committed war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity during their December-January war. Israel did not cooperate with the U.N. inquiry and has rejected the report as biased.
"We encourage Israel to utilise appropriate domestic (judicial) review and meaningful accountability mechanisms to investigate and follow-up on credible allegations," Posner said in a speech to the Geneva forum.
"If undertaken properly and fairly, these reviews can serve as important confidence-building measures that will support the larger essential objective which is a shared quest for justice and lasting peace," he said.'

Where's the outcry to stop these crimes against humanity? Where's the ire from the UN?

Obama Ignoring General McChrystal in Afghanistan
Our president is chomping at the bit to meet with dictators such as the evil Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but can't find time in his busy schedule to converse with his general in charge of Afghanistan. How pathetic is that? Afghanistan--isn't that the "good war"?
Combine this appalling bit of news with the comment in which Obama said that victory wasn't necessarily his goal. I'm sorry, but the commander-in-chief of our great military is not even worthy to lick the boots of these brave men and women who have volunteered to serve their country at a time of war.
To quote Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: Have you no shame, Mr. President? Have you no decency? George W. Bush spoke weekly to his deployed generals.
Hey, Mr. President, here's how real leaders respond when facing an enemy. Ronald Reagan said regarding his strategy on the Cold War, "We win, they lose." During World War II, General Douglas MacArthur stated, "There is no substitute for victory."
President Obama needs to spend more time on strategy for victory in Afghanistan and less time campaigning. We are all sick to death with turning on our TVs, seeing his face, and listening to yet another speech, as this occurs almost every lousy day.

In June 2008, Barack Obama said that it was time for a redeployment from Iraq that 'refocuses on Afghanistan and our broader security interests.' In the same speech, he committed to 'taking the fight to al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. … as President, I will make the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban the top priority that it should be. This is a war that we have to win.'
Five months later, Obama won the election and prepared his transition. That was ten months ago. If Afghanistan is his 'top priority' and 'a war that we have to win,' wouldn’t Obama have carved out a little time in his schedule to meet with the man tasked with winning it more than once since appointing him in June? It may have forced him to skip a Wagyu beef dinner and perhaps a night on the town in New York City, but those are the sacrifices that a CinC has to make from time to time.
In comparison, how many conversations will Obama have in Copenhagen to land the Olympics for Chicago? What does that say about the Commander in Chief’s priorities?"
Like I've said before, Obama is not the least interested in foreign policy, except, of course, his obsession with destroying Israel. His first priority is to push through socialized medicine, which, by the way, has fallen to its lowest level of support, and take over 1/6 of our economy.

Obama Playing with Fire
President Obama is bound and determined to defy the Living God and divide His holy city Jerusalem.
As Joe Biden once said, "Mark my words." Only this time the words are not Biden's, but from God Himself. Joel 3:2 says, "There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land."

'On the footsteps of President Obama's speech at the United Nations, the Quartet led by Obama's Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated President Obama's call for Israel to stop all building activities in East Jerusalem and the territories. In a joint communique, the Quartet went on to encourage the Palestinians to build institutions of state during the next 24 months. This is an endorsement of the Fayaad plan to declare a Palestinian State in 2 years whether or not Israel and the Palestinians come to a formal agreement.
In the words of the Quartet, "Recalling that transformative change on the ground is integral to peace, the Quartet welcomes the Palestinian Authority's plan for constructing the institutions of the Palestinian state within 24 months as a demonstration of the PA's serious commitment to an independent state that provides opportunity, justice, and security for the Palestinian people and is a responsible neighbor to all states in the region."
In endorsing the Fayaad plan, the Quartet has broken new ground as it follows Obama's aggressive lead. Israel is being iced out of the negotiating process. If Israel does not capitulate to dividing Jerusalem and to retreating to indefensible borders look for Obama and the Quartet to recognize the Palestinian State, and Israel will become an international pariah state.
In dealing with the settlements, the Quartet considers all the West Bank as occupied territory and prohibits even "natural growth" - a growing family adding a bedroom to an existing house or even a porch to a backyard. But, that was just a campaign speech.
He needed the Jewish vote.
Now President Obama is leading the charge to divide Jerusalem.

'On the footsteps of President Obama's speech at the United Nations, the Quartet led by Obama's Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated President Obama's call for Israel to stop all building activities in East Jerusalem and the territories. In a joint communique, the Quartet went on to encourage the Palestinians to build institutions of state during the next 24 months. This is an endorsement of the Fayaad plan to declare a Palestinian State in 2 years whether or not Israel and the Palestinians come to a formal agreement.
In the words of the Quartet, "Recalling that transformative change on the ground is integral to peace, the Quartet welcomes the Palestinian Authority's plan for constructing the institutions of the Palestinian state within 24 months as a demonstration of the PA's serious commitment to an independent state that provides opportunity, justice, and security for the Palestinian people and is a responsible neighbor to all states in the region."
In endorsing the Fayaad plan, the Quartet has broken new ground as it follows Obama's aggressive lead. Israel is being iced out of the negotiating process. If Israel does not capitulate to dividing Jerusalem and to retreating to indefensible borders look for Obama and the Quartet to recognize the Palestinian State, and Israel will become an international pariah state.
In dealing with the settlements, the Quartet considers all the West Bank as occupied territory and prohibits even "natural growth" - a growing family adding a bedroom to an existing house or even a porch to a backyard. There are more than 220 detainees remaining at the prison. In the last couple months, the White House has made it increasingly clear that the President will not make his self-stated January 22, 2010 deadline to close to prison.
Alla Ali Bin Ali Ahmed, a native of Yemen, was captured in Pakistan in 2002 and returned to Yemen today.
Known at Gitmo as Captive 692, the government labeled Ali Ahmed an "enemy combatant," saying he "was associated with Al-Qaeda. He was present on the front lines in Bagram, Afghanistan. He was identified by a senior Al-Qaeda facilitator as having been a resident at a safehouse in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2000 (his individual also saw the detainee at a safehouse located in Faisalabad, Pakistan in February 2002 with a group of Yemenis who had fled Afghanistan). I expect Jimmy Carter and his like-minded leftists to play the race card any day now against Sarkozy for daring to criticize our President, much less for daring to mock the naive approach of the Annointed One (as Sean Hannity calls Obama) to the world. Too bad that Hannity or Bill O’Reilly did not put all of Sarkozy’s words on the air.
After Obama outlined his Pollyanish vision of a nuclear-free world enforced by the UN Security Council, Sarkozy had this to say:
'“We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions.”
“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.”
“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.”
“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map.”'
Obama’s virtual world should have been disrupted by the rock solid intelligence — of which he has been aware for months but only now has made public — concerning a secret Iranian nuclear enrichment plant deep inside a mountain base of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards near the religious center of Qum. Yet valuable time was lost as he persisted in his quixotic quest for unconditional talks with Iranian officials, which are still about to go forward on October 1st.
Global nuclear disarmament treaties do not work when rogue regimes like Iran and North Korea pay lip service to their principles but flout the obligations imposed by the treaties that they sign. Iran may say that it is complying, and that it will continue to comply, with its responsibilities under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. However, outside of the Iranian regime itself and its most ardent supporters, only the most naïve would give the Islamic Republic of Iran the benefit of the doubt in this regard. As French President Sarkozy pointed out, Obama seems to belong in that camp.
Jimmy Carter may think that any such criticism against a black president is inherently racist, but the truth is that Carter had been as much, if not more, naive himself when he allowed the Shah of Iran to be deposed and replaced by the Islamic mullah maniacs in the first place."

"Five decades ago, during the heart of the Cold War, a term entered modern political vocabulary: 'The Ugly American.' Based upon a 1958 novel of the same name, the phrase began to be used to describe the whole range of thoughtless mistakes that Americans had made -- which had led to the loss of American friendship among the peoples of the world.
Today, the Obama Administration has brought the Ugly American back to life. Our nation and our people have always had jealous rivals. The French, whose revolution failed miserably, are loath to respect an American Revolution that proved a spectacular success. Marxist ideology led Russia and China to be hateful to America, whatever ordinary citizens of those countries might have felt. Arabs and Moslems, seeking someone to blame for their poverty and impotence, find America (and Israel) very tempting targets.
But America still has many natural and cultivated friends, though in less than one year, Obama and his lieutenants have succeeded in irritating, confusing, and angering these friends. It is as if Obama has contorted the Arab maxim 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' into the 'enemy of my friend is my friend.' Obama seems determined to be the Ugly American.
Israel is an excellent example of this. If we have a pure ally in the world today, it is Israel. America, like Israel and like every sane leader of every free nation, does not want Iran to get nuclear weapons. So when Israel suggests that it may undertake, alone, the burden of all free nations -- taking out Iran's nuclear capacity -- Obama's advisors warn that if the Israeli Defense Force flies over Iraq without our consent, our air forces will shoot down the Israeli warplanes.
Israel need not have been pushed to this desperate action had Obama passionately and publicly called for the end of the horrid reign of mullahs in Iran, after the Chicago-style presidential election of Ahmadinejad. One might have thought that American 'progressives' would find a regime that exterminates gays, stones uppity women, and imposes draconian theocracy ought to be in the crosshairs of American Leftists. That assumes that the Left hates homophobia, patriarchy, and theocracy more than it hates America -- a false assumption.
When our largely toothless Secretary of State travels to India, the world's largest democracy and a nation which, like us, looks with concern at the mad rulers of Iran, an unstable Pakistan, and a growing Chinese menace, she lectures the Indian government, which is trying to lift its people out of poverty, on the left's risible Green agenda.
While Obama nods toward an Iranian government which denies the Holocaust, seeks nuclear weapons, and considers America the Great Satan, it gratuitously snubs a constitutional government in Honduras and trusts, instead, the Marxist law-breaker who sought an illegal plebiscite to extend his term of office. Girls are not shot in the streets of Honduras. Huge protests are not broken up by special gangs of thugs. In fact, the whole of the constitutionally elected government of Honduras has concurred that former President Zelaya broke the Honduran Constitution. No matter. He hates America, and that counts most. Now he is reported back in Honduras. Does anyone wonder who America would support in a Honduran Civil War?
The same is true in South America, where the boorish thug Chavez crushes opposition, including the media voices of the opposition, to loud yawns from Washington or even approving words from Obama czars. Obama appears to respect the goon who runs Venezuela: he shakes hands with the Venezuelan strongman after receiving a ghastly book from a man who describes our nation as the 'most murderous empire that has existed in the history of the world.' (N.B. Chavez is probably not our friend.) Meanwhile, Congressional Democrats offend Columbia, a close ally in South America, by putting the Columbia Free-Trade Agreement on indefinite hold.
Britain has been with America through thick and thin without political ideology of governments affecting that special relationship. But Obama appears intent upon offending the prime minister and even the sovereign of this old and important ally. Czar Putin of Russia, however, is given smiles and unearned concessions. Even the timing of Obama's offending our allies seems deliberate, as many have noted our decision not to defend new NATO allies like Poland was on the seventieth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Poland.
There are people around the world who will always hate or distrust us, like the mullahs of Iran or Kim Jong Il or Castro. Obama seems determined to befriend these mortal enemies. Then there are peoples, nations, and leaders which share natural interests with America, like Israel, Poland, India, Colombia, and Britain. Toward these nations and their leaders, Obama seems bent on being the very ugliest Ugly American.

When one considers the travails of the Jewish people since the 7th century it should bring shame upon the face of the world. One of those objectives is the destruction of the State the world agreed to support in creating, Israel.
In keeping with previous traditions established by muhammad, the modern islamic warriors promote taquiyya, lying to promote islam. They also, just as muhammad, use the Treaty of Hudabiyya as a model to delay and deceive their enemies until they are ready to strike. Under Yasser Arafat some 200 agreements were never honored.
Why would be trust any word coming from the mouth of the psychopathic delusional leader of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? The mad mullahs, insane imams, and combative clerics are again calling for the supremacy of islam, no different from earlier centuries.
Israel faces groups such as Hamas which in its charter commits to the destruction of Israel. They face Iran who has committed to destroying the Jewish state and driving its people into the sea. When asked to depart from southern Lebanon, Israel complied, yet they now face Hezbollah in the north. In Egypt the muslim brotherhood is complicit in enabling Hamas to receive materiel support and funding through the series of tunnels.
And there are those who demand more land be ceded by Israel and settlements halted? The end result will be a Country with the width comparable to the distance of New York's JFK to LaGuardia airports. Each time Israel has given back terrain it has become a launching point for terrorist attacks.
We are dealing with an enemy that has no regard, nor respect, for negotiations, compromises, and certainly not appeasement. Matter of fact it is deemed weakness and only encourages them moreso.
I do not support any creation of a Palestinian state, to do so would be to create a terrorist state. There is already a state for the Arabic people residing in the region called Palestine, Jordan. If the Arabs can build an indoor ski slope in Dubai, they can resolve the issue of their Arab brothers and sisters. Instead, they use them as pawns in an international game of extortion and use the subsidies provided not for humanitarian gain but for more weapons, for jihad.
I do not support any division of Jerusalem. If I recall from history and the Old Testament, David, Son of Israel built Jerusalem and his son Solomon made it great. The muslim claims to Jerusalem are based upon a very contentious story concocted by muhammad, and of course the latter conquering of the city even by Salahaddin. One flag will fly over Jerusalem, the Israeli flag, never any other, certainly not a UN flag.
Lastly, we must move away from the antiquated world government organization called the United Nations. We recently saw what type "leaders" are allowed a stage before this body politic. It is time we create a new organization which is based upon Nations with like political structures, Republics and Democracies. I advocate Israel being part of this structure, perhaps an expanded NATO, but something with teeth, and principled member Nations. We face a dangerous committed enemy, we are all targets, not just Israel.
And if we fail to believe that last sentence, ask those who lost loved ones on 9-11 in America, on 3-11 in Madrid, and in the London bombings. We just dodged a terrible blow here in America, again, while promoting "Islam on Capitol Hill". Funny, the attendees blamed their fear of reprisals for not having more persons participate. This on the same day, 25 September 2009, that a Jordanian illegal immigrant was caught sitting in a "supposed" car bomb and dialing up the cell number to detonate in Dallas.
Genesis Chapter 16, verses 11-12 states, "And the Angel of the Lord said to her (Hagar): Behold you are with child, And you shall bear a son, You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the Lord has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against everyman, and every man's hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren."
Ishamel of course became the beginning of the Arab people....and God's word is immutable truth.
In closing, there are battle lines clearly drawn, I know where I stand, and that is to support the State of Israel. The lessons of history have been learned by me and I offer one simple retort, "Not on my Watch".'

'About 62 years ago the world came together and established something that was very long overdue, the State of Israel. When one considers the travails of the Jewish people since the 7th century it should bring shame upon the face of the world. These persecutions began with their being forced out of the Saudi peninsula and the Levant by muhammad and his successors.
The horrors of the inquisition in Spain among other wrongs brought upon the Jews in early Europe followed. When we failed to learn from that lesson, the world would witness the supreme horror in Europe of the Holocaust. Finally, we learned the lesson. In keeping with previous traditions established by muhammad, the modern islamic warriors promote taquiyya, lying to promote islam. They also, just as muhammad, use the Treaty of Hudabiyya as a model to delay and deceive their enemies until they are ready to strike. Under Yasser Arafat some 200 agreements were never honored.
Why would be trust any word coming from the mouth of the psychopathic delusional leader of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? The mad mullahs, insane imams, and combative clerics are again calling for the supremacy of islam, no different from earlier centuries.
Israel faces groups such as Hamas which in its charter commits to the destruction of Israel. They face Iran who has committed to destroying the Jewish state and driving its people into the sea. When asked to depart from southern Lebanon, Israel complied, yet they now face Hezbollah in the north. In Egypt the muslim brotherhood is complicit in enabling Hamas to receive materiel support and funding through the series of tunnels.
And there are those who demand more land be ceded by Israel and settlements halted? The end result will be a Country with the width comparable to the distance of New York's JFK to LaGuardia airports. Each time Israel has given back terrain it has become a launching point for terrorist attacks.
We are dealing with an enemy that has no regard, nor respect, for negotiations, compromises, and certainly not appeasement. Matter of fact it is deemed weakness and only encourages them moreso.

'A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama’s "safe school czar."
It’s getting hard to keep track of all of this president’s problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.
In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.
According to Mr. Jennings’ own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man’s home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings’ defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.
However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings’ own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student’s concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."
Mr. Jennings’ denials about these events reveal a lack of remorse. He has not admitted that he made mistakes in this case, and he now refuses to answer any questions about the scandal. Don’t forget, this is a presidential appointee we’re talking about. Mr. Obama should make clear what his standards are for public servants serving at the pleasure of the president. Encouraging and covering up man-boy sexual activity are serious offenses. The White House should force Mr. Jennings to come clean.
Mr. Jennings has made extremely radical statements promoting homosexuality in schools and about his utter contempt for religion that render him unsuitable for a prestigious White House appointment. His job in the Obama administration is to ensure student safety, and this scandal directly calls into question his ability to perform that job. Mr. Jennings and Obama administration officials refuse to answer any questions about this newly discovered evidence. A lot of Americans want answers about this guy and how he was approved for a job in the White House.'
Of course the real scandal here is that Mr. Jennings was ever appointed Mr. Obama’s ‘Safe School Czar’ in the first place.

'Few Obama administration appointments have been as startling as Education Secretary Arne Duncan’s appointment of Kevin Jennings, the homosexual founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), to head the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.
Jennings was undoubtedly chosen for this post (which does not require Senate confirmation) because the foundation of the homosexual education agenda is the concept of “safe schools.” However, “safe schools” as GLSEN defines them are like “hate crime laws” for kids. GLSEN’s model legislation would create protected categories like “sex, gender, . . . sexual orientation, [and] gender identity or expression.” … GLSEN’s “safe schools” do not protect everyone equally, but instead single out homosexuals for more protection than others.
Despite this inequity, some might be tempted to support the “safe schools” agenda as long as it is limited to ending bullying, and does not extend to actively affirming or promoting homosexuality. However, in a 1995 speech, Jennings admitted that the rhetoric about “safety” was a political device, saying that it “threw our opponents on the defensive, and stole their best line of attack. This framing short-circuited their arguments and left them back-pedaling.” In a 1997 speech he embraced the idea of actively “promoting” homosexuality, looking forward to a day when “people, when they would hear that someone was promoting homosexuality, would say, ‘Yeah, who cares?’” And an unsigned article on the GLSEN website in 2000 declared, “The pursuit of safety and affirmation are one and the same goal.”
While Jennings promotes tolerance toward homosexuals, he is unwilling to reciprocate by extending tolerance to those who disagree with him. His memoir, Mama’s Boy, Preacher’s Son, seethes with bitterness toward Southern Baptists, the country’s largest Protestant denomination (within which he was raised). Perhaps that’s why, in a speech in a New York church in 2000, Jennings is reported to have said, “We have to quit being afraid of the religious right. . . . I’m trying not to say, ‘[F---] ‘em!’ which is what I want to say, because I don’t care what they think! Drop dead!”
He wants homosexuality to be taught in American schools — in his book Always My Child, Jennings calls for a “diversity policy that mandates including LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] themes in the curriculum.” But he wants only one side of this controversial issue to be aired, and apparently believes in locking sexually confused kids into a “gay” identity…
Jennings does not limit his promotion of homosexuality in schools only to high schools or middle schools. He wrote the foreword for a book titled Queering Elementary Education, which includes an essay declaring that “‘queerly raised’ children are agents” using “strategies of adaptation, negotiation, resistance, and subversion.”
Perhaps the most dramatic illustration, however, of Jennings’ unfitness for a “safe schools” post involves an incident when he taught at Concord Academy, a private boarding school in Massachusetts. In his book One Teacher in Ten (the title is based on the discredited myth, now abandoned even by “gay” activist groups, that ten percent of the population is homosexual), he tells about a young male sophomore, “Brewster,” who confessed to Jennings “his involvement with an older man he met in Boston.” But at a GLSEN rally in 2000, Jennings told a more explicit version of “Brewster’s” story. Jennings here quotes the boy and then comments: “‘I met someone in the bus station bathroom and I went home with him.’ High school sophomore, 15 years old. That was the only way he knew how to meet gay people.”
Did Jennings report this high-risk behavior to the authorities? To the school? To the boy’s parents? No — he just told the boy, “I hope you knew to use a condom.” Sex between an adult and a young person below the “age of consent” (which varies from state to state) is a crime known as statutory rape, and some states mandate that people in certain professions report such abuse.
I do not know if “Brewster” was below the age of consent, nor whether Jennings was a mandatory reporter or violated mandatory reporting laws. When members of the National Education Association protested an NEA award to Jennings because of this incident, Jennings called the criticism “potentially libelous” and a GLSEN lawyer demanded a retraction. But when officials at Concord Academy — the school where Jennings had taught — were asked about the scenario described in one of Jennings’ accounts, a school spokesman said that such an incident should be reported.
In any case, public service requires adherence to a higher ethical standard than bare compliance with the law. Instead of veiled threats, Jennings now owes the public a thorough explanation of the “Brewster” incident. Regardless of the law, a 15-year-old who meets sexual partners in a bus station restroom requires more than a condom to be “safe.”
Kevin Jennings has neither the temperament nor the ethical standards needed for public service. His history suggests a commitment to serving only one narrow part of the student population, not all students. He is unfit for the post to which he’s been assigned, and Secretary Duncan should withdraw his appointment at once.'
Note that the ‘statutory rape’ incident was already well known at the time of Mr. Jennings appointment. Probably it was seen as a feather in his cap.
Still, one is forced to wonder.
Doesn’t Mr. Obama know anyone who is even slightly normal and law-abiding?
