Obama Again Violates No Abortion Funding Pledge

For the second time since his speech where he promised that abortion funding would not be included in the dem’s nationalized health care plan, President Obama lobbied democrats to add the funding to the Obamacare bill this past weekend.
Life News reported:
'President Barack Obama told the American people in a national speech in September that “my” health care plan would not include taxpayer funding of abortion. Obama broke that pledge once by lobbying members of the House to support a pro-abortion funding bill and he did it again this weekend in the Senate.
Obama met with Senate Democrats in a closed door session on Sunday and told them to support the Harry Reid-sponsored bill that includes massive abortion funding and could force insurance companies to cover abortions with taxpayer’s premiums.
Although the media wasn’t allowed into the event, senators described the speech as one in which Obama asked them for their votes for the bill and said voting for the legislation was a historic opportunity.'

I've already explained your lie, but you don't want to listen, so why bother?
In a nutshell, here it is AGAIN:
There is a difference between paying for an abortion (which isn't allowed under the Hyde Amendment) and a federal subsidy for an insurance plan that, among other things, covers a perfectly legal abortion. THAT is not a violation of the Hyde Amendment, and it's nothing new; the federal government provides all sorts of subsidies to private insurers NOW that pay for abortions.
You Religious Rightwingnuts see an opportunity to get something more out of this deal, so you're going for it. That's OK, that's politics. Just don't claim others are lying when it's you and yours that are doing the lying in this case.
There's more to it than that or there would be no Stupak Amendment, which I might add, Planned Parenthood squealed about.

Want to know the truth, just watch what Planned Parenthood does. If PP is quiet, abortion is included. If not, PP will be squealing like pigs.
Planned Parenthood "squealed" as you so charmingly put it, because the Stupak Amendment COULD be interpreted to put additional restrictions on legal abortions. But it also COULD be interpreted otherwise, so it wasn't a huge make-or-break deal.
Sen. Nelson decided to ratchet it up several notches, by not even allowing any possible interpretation that went against his strong anti-abortion views. His amendment would have stopped ANY funding in ANY way for ANY type of abortion (even for incest or rape, I believe).
Luckily, the Senate as a whole had better judgment than Nelson, and the amendment was finally tabled this afternoon.
To Diogenes: You cannot with a straight face say that this liberal controlled senate has any good judgement on anything, or any liberal for that matter. These are the same people who say we must pass health care reform to save lives. Then in the same breath, say that this idiotic bill must include the right to kill an innocent, unborn child and the obligation of taxpayers to fund this CRAP. These are the same people who will protest when some monster on death row is to be executed, but have no problem slaughtering an unborn child for the sake of choice!!! In most all cases, i'm sure these women had the choice to use some sort of birth control at the very least. But that is not the liberal way. Just do whatever you want, and then the resonsible people will make it all better. You claim to be a christian, but if you are for abortions, you cannot possibly be one. Political correctness is fine here on earth, but we are only here for a short time. We all had better be on GOD'S side when we die. The BIBLE states that in the end times, good will be called bad and bad will be called good. Looks that way to me right now.
