"Two Big Victories at Work in New York’s 23rd Congressional District"

Time to discuss the results from the special election for Congress in upstate New York. Naturally, it was a disappointment for conservatives to see Doug Hoffman lose to the liberal Bill Owens. But, all was not lost. Voters sent a clear message to the Republican establishment that we conservatives want nothing to do with RINOS.

The Republican defeat in this New York district can be blamed on none other than the RNC which chose a Republican candidate in Dede Scozzafava who was more liberal than the Democrat. How ludicrous was that? Had Scozzafava kept her name in the running and defeated Owens, conservatives would have been no better off because she would have voted in support of the liberal agenda being pushed by Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.

If the RNC had invested the time and money they put into Scozzafava into the conservative Hoffman, they would more than likely have been celebrating a victory today. Sometimes, important lessons are learned the hard way. Therefore, conservatism triumphed in upstate New York yesterday, despite the loss.

In NY-23, Conservatives Win

"The race has now been called for Democrat Bill Owens.

This is a huge win for conservatives.

'Whaaaa. . . ?' you say.

There are two big victories at work in New York’s 23rd Congressional District.

First, the GOP now must recognize it will either lose without conservatives or will win with conservatives. In 2008, many conservatives sat home instead of voting for John McCain. Now, in NY-23, conservatives rallied and destroyed the Republican candidate the establishment chose.

I have said all along that the goal of activists must be to defeat Scozzafava. Doug Hoffman winning would just be gravy. A Hoffman win is not in the cards, but we did exactly what we set out to do — crush the establishment backed GOP candidate.

And make no mistake, despite the Beltway spin, we know for certain based on statements from the local Republican parties, that they chose Scozzafava based on advice from the Washington crowd.

So we have demonstrated to the GOP that it must not take conservatives for granted. The GOP spent $900,000.00 on a Republican who dropped out and endorsed the Democrat. Were we to combine Scozzafava and Hoffman’s votes, Hoffman would have won.

Secondly, and just as importantly, there has all of a sudden been a huge movement among some activists to go the third party route. We see in NY-23 that this is not possible as third parties are not viable.

Third parties lack funding and ability for a host of reasons. Conservatives are going to have to work from within the GOP. The GOP had better pay attention.

For all intents and purposes, NY-23 is a trial run for Florida. And in Florida, the conservative candidate is operating inside the GOP. If John Cornyn and the NRSC do not want to see Florida go the way of NY-23, they better stand down."

So, cheer up, conservatives. There's another election in upstate New York a year from now. Just imagine another year of Barack Obama's abominable economic policies and the outrage Americans will feel enduring twelve more months with little-to-no job growth and the financial insecurity that comes with that. Voters may be sprinting toward conservative candidates nationwide.

Rubbish. The conservative LOST in NY-23. And the GOP lost because they shot themselves in the foot, by dumping the chosen GOP candidate and backing the Conservative candidate.

The message is: RIGHTWINGNUTS ARE LOSERS. Period. You can try to maintain your "ethnic purity" program within the GOP and rid yourself of any sense of moderation by ridding your party of what you affectionately refer to as RINO's. Great! You'll be true to your cause... and you'll be flushed down the toilet, again and again, just as you were last night in NY-23.

But PLEASE go ahead and try that strategy. The numbers alone dictate that it's a bigger loser than John McCain ever dreamt of being.

And who started this whole ersatz revolution in NY-23? Sarah Palin! Proving, yet again, that if she has ANY political instincts at all, it has to be a genetic accident.
