Where Are the Jobs?

obamanomics

Obama and company are taking us down, down, down. What the American people need more than anything is JOBS, JOBS, and more JOBS.

Why is the Obama Administration doing everything in its power to prevent the growth of jobs?

Remember this lie told to us by our president during the election season:

What a bunch of hogwash that was!

Read about how Obama and his liberal comrades are going to destroy any hope of creating jobs through their healthcare bill and all its on mandates and taxes on businesses, via the American Thinker:

A comprehensive list of new taxes in health care bill
Rick Moran

"Sorry this took a while, but the excellent folks at Americans for Tax Reform had to plow through 1990 pages of health care reform in order to find all the little golden nuggets that will make the tax man jump for joy.

Ryan Ellis reports that ATR has discovered no less than 13 new taxes in the bill. Among them:

'Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee's health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages. Small employers (measured by payroll size) have smaller payroll tax rates of 0 percent (<$500,000), 2 percent ($500,000-$585,000), 4 percent ($585,000-$670,000), and 6 percent ($670,000-$750,000).

Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.

Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.

Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).

Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)

Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services.'

Feel left out? Don't worry, there's plenty more where those came from.

Generally speaking, it appears that the burden will fall primarily on businesses. So instead of hiring someone to be productive, that money will go to the government instead.

This is a jobs killing bill as much as it is a power grab for control of the health care system. It shows just how far the Democrats are willing to go - delay or destroy any recovery - in order for government to get their hands on the health care system.
"

UPDATE: The Dems also have plans to punish any state which passes tort reform.

Wow. Did you take an extra dose of your usual Stupid and Bitter pills today? These last few posts have been an extremist diatribe, even for you.

As to taxes, one might notice that Obama's comments were made before Bush let the stock market, the financial markets, and the banking system collapse in Sept. 2008.

DIfferent circumstances require different solutions. Sorry if that offends your "I-got-mine-you-get-yours" elitist rightwingnut mentality.

Remind us again what a fine "Christian" you are!

Bush let this all happen? You forget, Diogenes, I don't get my news from the American Pravda. So I am well aware of the fact that liberal policies of forcing banks and other lending institutions to loan money to individuals who were unable to repay their loans led to this nightmare we are living. Spare me your crap.

Calling me bitter is cute coming from you, the angry liberal who spews venom out of his mouth on a daily basis. Sorry, no bitterness here. Just reporting the news that the American Pravda refuses to report.

Ohhhhh, I see. The Democrats are responsible for failures when they control the White House and/or the Congress, and the Democrats are responsible for failures when the Republicans control the White House and/or the Congress. Conversely, if there are any successes, the Republicans are solely repsonsible for them, regardless of who's in control.

Yep, I got it now. Sorry for the confusion.

BTW, how do you account for the 3.5% increase in the GNP for the 3rd quarter?

Debra Moore said...

No, Diogenes, the Republicans are at fault, too. Bush's part in the bailouts was inexcusable. But, it was your liberal friends who are responsible for the mortgage mess that we are in.

As to the growth in GDP, Cash for Clunkers was a huge factor, and that was added consumption in the last quarter which will weaken this current quarter.

Personally, I hope Obama can get us out of this mess, but I'm not holding my breath. We need growth in the private sector, and Obama will be sticking it to the wealthy (you know the very ones who create jobs and invest in our economy). They are all fearful to do what's necessary to stimulate the economy and get us out of this mess.

I don't have any great love for the rich, but when you stick it to them, we all suffer. Obama refuses to recognize that fact, and that is why our future looks grim.

Actually, our economy was moving along just fine until the Dems took over Congress, and we've been spiraling downhill ever since.

Surely. "It's the Dems' fault."

Buy a vowel. Get a clue.
