The President Lies: Updated
The mainstream American Pravda is all abuzz with the news that, in the midst of President Obama's snake oil speech to Congress last night on healthcare, South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson dared to shout out, "You lie!" when the president, lying through his teeth, said that Obama Care would not cover illegal aliens.
For the record, Wilson's comment, in the middle of a president's speech before Congress, was inappropriate--dead-on accurate, but inappropriate. The funniest part of the entire episode was the shocked expression on Nancy Pelosi's face.
In case anyone has forgotten, the Republicans came up with an amendment to the healthcare legislation which would prohibit illegals from getting free healthcare. But, of course, the Democratic-controlled House defeated that amendment. If they wished to ban illegals from receiving free healthcare, they had the opportunity to do so.
Even the liberal Associated Press called Obama out on his lies. Read the shocking story from Gateway Pundit:
Stunner... AP Pummels Liar In Chief's Dishonest Speech
"Here's a stunner.
After the campaign speech Barack Obama delivered to Congress tonight the state-run media reported that Dear Leader's talking points were not true.
They were being kind.
This made it past the editor's desk at the AP:
'President Barack Obama used only-in-Washington accounting Wednesday when he promised to overhaul the nation's health care system without adding "one dime" to the deficit. By conventional arithmetic, Democratic plans would drive up the deficit by billions of dollars.
The president's speech to Congress contained a variety of oversimplifications and omissions in laying out what he wants to do about health insurance.
OBAMA: "I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits either now or in the future. Period."
THE FACTS: ...The long-term prognosis for costs of the health care legislation has not been good.
OBAMA: "Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have."
THE FACTS: ...The Congressional Budget Office analyzed the health care bill written by House Democrats and said that by 2016 some 3 million people who now have employer-based care would lose it...
OBAMA: "Don't pay attention to those scary stories about how your benefits will be cut. ... That will never happen on my watch. I will protect Medicare."
THE FACTS: Obama and congressional Democrats want to pay for their health care plans in part by reducing Medicare payments to providers by more than $500 billion over 10 years...
There's much more here.'
Also, The National Right To Life Committee says that Obama was lying about abortion too.
And, his talking point about not covering illegal immigrants was not true either."
Someone at the AP will have to be taken to the woodshed for daring to speak out against the beloved president.
Read this from Rich Lowry, and read how Obama twisted the truth.
In summary, the majority of the media ignored the fact that the president of the United States was lying to the American people last night, but focused on the truthful comment made by Joe Wilson. Lots and lots of Americans cheered Wilson from their TVs as they heard him communicate their exact beliefs.
Go here to financially support Joe Wilson.

YOU lie, Ms. Moore!
I read the AP story, did you? DO you realize that your fellow rightwingnut blogger did a real hatchet job of editing the AP story?
The most glaring lie is about the main topic of your post, that numbnuts congressman from South Carolina who called the President of the United States a liar during a joint session of Congress!
Here's what the AP said, and you omitted:
"OBAMA: "The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." One congressman, South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson, shouted "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber when Obama made this assertion. Wilson later apologized.
THE FACTS: The facts back up Obama. The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants get health care coverage. Illegal immigrants could buy private health insurance, as many do now, but wouldn't get tax subsidies to help them. Still, Republicans say there are not sufficient citizenship verification requirements to ensure illegal immigrants are excluded from benefits they are not due.'
So, in other words, Rep. Wilson, your rightwingnut blogger pal, and YOU are lying, not the President.
Face it: you and your Republican brethren will do anything and say anything to take down this President. Period. Truth means nothing to you anymore. You have and you will lie about ANYTHING if it helps advance your sick little cause.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
Remember that one? Is there an asterisk that says you CAN bear false witness, as long as it's against a black President who you thik favors Muslims? Is that what your preacher tells you on Sunday?
You are simply despicable.
And you, Diogenes, as usual are clueless. Did you not read about the amendment to prohibit coverage for illegals which the Democrats voted down?
Blame our opposition to Obama on race all you like. That's ridiculous and you know it. I would vote for a black conservative without hesitation. This has nothing to do with race.
Why is an amendment needed to prohibit coverage for illegal immigrants, when the bill as proposed already does that??
Why?
Because the GOP was grandstanding, trying to get doctors and hospitals to do a law-enforcement job. Let doctors and hospitals treat patients, and let law enforcement chase down illegals.
BTW, here's the exact cite for the clause that prohibits coverage for illegal aliens:
House Bill 3200. Page 143. Lines 3-7:
"SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."
It's right there, Ms. Moore, in black and white. Clear as a bell. So, again, please explain why an amendment would be necessary to say what the bill already says?????
Read this:
"The Congressional Research Service has indicated that indeed the bills that are before Congress would include illegal aliens," Wilson said. "And I think this is wrong."
Indeed, the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service study found that the House health care bill does not restrict illegal immigrants from receiving health care coverage.

Like I've said before, do you really believe that La Raza would support any healthcare coverage that does not somehow have a loophole which will allow coverage for illegals?
