Krauthammer's analysis of the facts leading up to the coup is absolutely correct. Problem is, he stops dead, before the coup itself.
Was Zelaya dead wrong in what he did? Yes. Was the Supreme COurt correct in ruling against him? Yes. Should the Supreme Court have issued a warrant for Zelaya's arrest? Yes. Did the military properly execute that warrant for Zelaya's arrest? Yes. SHould the next presidential election take place in November, as scheduled? Yes.
Should the military have thrown Zelaya on a plane and expelled Zelaya from the country?
No.
That's where they crossed the line.
Assuming that the Honduran Constitution provides for impeachment, Zelaya could be impeached. And tried. And convicted. And imprisoned. Or maybe even expelled.
But the rule of law dictates that proper procedures must be followed. Those procedures are there for a reason, and to ignore them is a violation as much as Zelaya's.
Actually, Diogenes, the Honduran Constitution DOES NOT provide for impeachment, as in the US. But substitutions of the head of one branch of the state by the 2 others has happened before. (Which is exactly what happened)
Should he had been ejected of the country? He was a clear and present danger as a rabble rouser. He did storm an airforce base with a group of his followers a couple of days before. Eventhough, those against him here in Honduras are a majority, their side is much more violent. They beat up 4 protesters a few days before the so called survey.
The Lord has placed a strong burden on my heart for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. The anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism throughout the world is growing rampantly, and the public is not being told the truth about Israel.
At the same time, Islam is an enormous threat to the West, and because of political correctness, most will not address its dangers. In all honesty, the Hard Left and Islam have united and are using one another because they both share the same hatred for America, Israel, and Christianity. As Christians, we must hate Islam, but not have hate in our hearts for Muslims. They are totally deceived by an evil religion which has them bound by its lies, hatred, and intolerance. We must also remember that most Muslims were born into their evil religion and know nothing else. Jesus has love in His heart for the Muslim people, so He expects the same from us.
