Obama Warned Us

Remember this clip? At a town hall meeting in Ft. Myers, Florida, four months ago a woman named Henrietta Hughes basically asks President Obama for a kitchen and a bathroom. He’s the President of the United States, not Santa Claus.

Americans drank the Obama Kool-Aid, and they fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Here’s one such example: My neighbor told me that her brother had lost his job last fall and had not made his mortgage payment since November; he and his sister were both expecting Obama to bail him out of his financial woes. Of course, no such thing happened. The brother remains jobless, and his mortgage problems have not changed or been solved.

People need a reality check. Obama is not the answer to their economic problems.

In fact, if he happens to smooth-talk the Senate into passing his Cap and Trade bill, which should be labeled a Cap and Tax bill, Americans had better look out because their utility bills will be going sky high, just like Obama predicted before the election. But, too many people were too busy swooning over his fine oratory to listen to what the man actually said. Naturally, the corrupt media played a major part in deceiving the public by covering up for anything that would harm their much worshiped candidate.

For those who are thrilled that the House passed the Cap and Trade tax bill, give it some time. Once this legislation is put into action and you receive your electric bill, the thrill will wear off very quickly.

For a little reminiscing about what Obama actually said and what he has planned for America in this period of deep recession when we are struggling to pay our bills and insecure about keeping our jobs, read and watch the videos from Gateway Pundit:

Obama Warned Us: Cap & Trade Will Cause Electricity Rates to Skyrocket & Will Bankrupt the Coal Industry (Video)

BARACK OBAMA ANNOUNCED IN 2008 THAT HIS CAP & TRADE LEGISLATION WOULD CAUSE ELECTRICITY RATES TO SKYROCKET AND WOULD BANKRUPT THE COAL INDUSTRY

Barack Obama admitted last year that cap and trade legislation would cause electricity prices to skyrocket in an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle:

Under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers.’

Cap and trade will likely cost $700 to $1,400 dollars per US family per year:

Democratic Congressman John Dingell (D-MI) summed up cap and trade at a Congressional hearing on April 24th-- ‘It's a Great Big Tax!'

It's not just a great big tax... It's the biggest tax in US history.

Barack Obama also told a San Francisco audience he would bankrupt the coal industry:

Hat Tip Über

Here's the transcript via Free Republic from his talk to the San Francisco Chronicle in January 2008:

‘Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted
.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It's just that it will bankrupt them
.’

Obama warned us.
It's just too bad the state-run media didn't find these threats newsworthy.”

His words--not mine. Don’tcha love hope and change?

Gosh, I love the "logic" of rightwingnuts!

They scream about stimulus monies bankrupting our children and grandchildren. We just cannot saddle them with all this debt.

But when it comes to climate change, we don't seem to care about the kids and grandkids anymore. All we care about is what it MIGHT cost us today.

Future generations need a planet to live on, and we've got to start changing NOW while we still have a chance to do so.

Look at the bright side: if you DON'T start takin gcare of our planet now, there won't be any worries about them paying off debt later... there will be nothing left!

wow Diogenes you just don't get it do you. Have you even studied any history, or looked at what is currently happening in Europe, especially Spain where they have already tried this.

You do nothing but go on about the right wing nuts and then go and tout how great the left wing nuts agenda is.

This Cap and Trade thing is nothing more than a tax and will do nothing but cause more economic harm. It is not about saving the planet. Do you even realize that CO2 only makes up 3% of all greenhouse gases!!!!!

Please awake and take off the rose colored glasses and put down the obama kool-aid

Gosh, you really DO buy all those "scientific explanations" as to why global warming is a myth,, even though they're funded by petroleum producers. And here I was, stupid me, listening to impaprtial scientists and the Nobel Prize committee.
