America: "One of the Largest Muslim Countries in the World"

Let me get this straight. First, President Obama stated that America was not a Christian nation. Now, he states that we are “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world“. Oh, really? Perhaps, in his dreams.

The kowtowing to the Muslim world is beyond unbelievable. He may be winning the favor of the Arab community, and polls show that he is, though they still strongly dislike America. So, where exactly, will that get us as a nation?

Perhaps, the Muslim world suspects, as I do, that he may be a closet Muslim. I cannot forget the comment made by his sister to the NY Times in April, 2007, My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim.”

And isn’t it interesting that he now admits that his father was not an agnostic after all, but a Muslim? I guess that means he out-and-out lied to the American people during his campaign for president. Of course, based on a recent poll of Americans regarding their view of Muslims, in which only one in five had a favorable view of Muslim countries, he had reason to do so.

If Bill Clinton earned the nickname “the first black president” because of his empathy for the black community, Barack Obama should certainly earn the title “the first Muslim president”, regardless of where his real religious beliefs lie, because of his bending over bowing down to the Islamic community.

Read from Atlas Shrugs:

ABC NEWS DISCOVERS...THE MUSLIM PRESIDENT! BHO: "The United States is One of the Largest Muslim Countries on the Planet"

’The United States and the Western world must learn about Islam, and indeed if we count the number of American Muslims, we see that the United States is one of the largest Muslim countries on the planet,’ he said.
Interview with French LaMonde.
(hat tip Boquisucio):

As Obama embarks on his much lauded (compliments of a dhimmi press) trip to address the Muslim world from Egypt, select members of the mainstream media are surprised by Obama's pre-election deceit about his Muslim background and family.

When I started posting about Obama's religious Muslim background in January of 2007, every epithet was hurled at me from the left and mainstream circles. Islamophobe! Right wing nut! Racist? What race? He is really more Arab American than African American, but the racist charge was for his religion (Islam is a race?). I continued to post through 2007 and 2008 evidence of his Islamic religious birth, his extremist Muslim family and his Islamic schooling. Terrorists supported him. There were the phone banks in Gaza. Oodles of jihad money from a Hamas controlled refugee camp in Gaza. Mosques in the US were preaching for Obama. Khalid Al Mansour sponsored Obama for Harvard. *crickets chirped*"

Read it all.

Everybody knew his muslim history and sympathies, yet the American Jews and so-called Christians turned their backs on God and voted for him anyway.

Catholics overall voted 54% for obama
Jewish voted 78% for obama
Other Faiths voted 73% for obama
Unaffiliated voted 75% for obama

24% of the young white evangelicals ages 18 to 29 voted for obama this time

The young evangelicals that voted for obama don't believe that Jesus is really their savior, it’s that simple!

Yes, you're absolutely right: Jesus was a Republican... had to be!

Sorry, but some Red State redneck isn't going to tell me who God wants me to vote for. THAT'S why Obama got elected.

I don't understand at all the fanaticism about Obama being a Muslim. Did George W. issue another secret executive order while he was President that made it a crime to be Muslim?

What is this fascination about Obama being, or not being, a Muslim based on his father's religious practices? Obama met the man TWICE in his entire life! Ronald Reagan's dad was an alcoholic -- does that have any significance?

These "gotcha" games are silly, taking one response on one occasion and comparing it to another response, in a completely different context, months or years later.

America is not a theocracy. It isn't, and shouldn't be, run in accordance with the religious preferences of a loud obnoxious minority of evangelic rightwingnuts. We are a proud country with a more diverse population than any other country on earth. And we should act accordingly.

Diogenes: why would a Christian vote for someone that doesn't reflect their religious beliefs and values?

If you're going to vote against everything the bible teaches us.
Why claim to be a Christian? Why even bother going to church?
It will serve no purpose, other than make someone fell better for the moment.

Obama was a Muslim until he left Jakarta around the age of 10. Obama was registered as a Muslim at his primary school under the name Barry Soetoro. Even in Obama's autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," he called his school "a Muslim school" and admits he studied the Quran during his formative years from age 6 to age 10: "In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies."

Not just his father and stepfather were Muslim! Liar!

America isn't a theocracy just because people vote for someone that holds the same belief and values as themselves you idiot!

I’m almost positive that you probably look more like a redneck then I, Lawyer? Riiiiiiiight!

There's nothing I've seen of Obama that doesn't reflect my reigious beliefs. The God and Jesus I have been taught to love advocate treating our neighbors as we would like to be treated, to turn the other cheek, to be compassionate to our fellow man, to live our lives in Christian fellowship. Nothing Obama has said or done, to date, counters any of that.

Yes, yes, yes, I know your rightwingnut insistence that abortion is murder. I don't agree. Obama doesn't agree. Lots and lots of Christians don't agree. And, lucky for us, YOU don't get to determine if we're Christians or not. If you're right and I'm wrong, then I'll stand liable for judgment someday. If I'm right and you're wrong, then you will do likewise.

As for Obama's background, you're twisting the facts to suit your theory. And you know that you are -- or you should. You claim that in his autobiography "Dreams From My Father" Obama called his school "a Muslim school" and studied the Quran from age 6 to 10. But that's simply not so; you've intentionally distorted the truth for your own silly purposes. I've read both "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope". have you?

The TRUTH is that Obama was first enrolled in a CATHOLIC elementary school in Indonesia, Fransiskus Assisi, which he attended for about 3 years and then, when his family moved, he went to a predominantly Muslim school for two years.

"During the five years that we would live with my stepfather in Indonesia, I was sent first to a neighborhood Catholic school and then to a predominately Muslim school," Obama wrote in 'Audacity.' "In our household, the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf."

This is the problem you have, Anon: you twist facts, you make stuff up, and you simply refuse to recognize things that don't fit neatly into your view of the world. You're in denial. You're living in a fantasy of your own making, one that bears little resemblance to the real world.

"All of us share this world for but a brief moment in time. The question is whether we spend that time focused on what pushes us apart or whether we commit ourselves to an effort, a sustained effort to find common ground, to focus on the future we seek for our children and to respect the dignity of all human beings. It's easier to start wars than to end them. It's easier to blame others than to look inward. It's easier to see what is different about someone than to find the things we share. But we should choose the right path, not just the easy path. There is one rule that lies at the heart of every religion, that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us."

And just what is so objectionable to that?
